Made rapid progress last season on soft ground (including victory in this contest) and the warm weather delayed her reappearance until two weeks ago. That was over am inadequate trip but underlined her wellbeing and that she will go close again.
Won four times for Hugo Palmer in 2016, but has been very disappointing since. Returns with questions to answer off a rapidly declining mark.
Losing run stretches back to 2015 and he has been particularly poor on his last three starts. Claims on his Ayr third to Euchen Glen in June but it would be a risk to say he can reproduce that here.
Winner earlier in the campaign and while he's been running well in defeat from his revised handicap mark, he's never won from a mark quite this high and this is a particularly competitive event.
Versatile sort who has done well this year winning twice over shorter trips. Has been placed at today's trip on AW surfaces, but questions to answer on a track as demanding as this and with holding conditions.
Favourite for this last year when denied a clear run and fourth to Sepal. 16lb better off this time and there should be a better gallop this time. Has won here twice and handles the ground.
Has been running consistently well this year off a succession of career high marks. Handles soft ground but he needs to find further improvement.
Has won four of her last seven and proven on testing ground. Ran better than her final position suggests last time but it was still an effort that raises concerns as to whether she can mix it with these rivals.
Has had a busy but productive campaign. Out of his depth at York last week but not guaranteed to do much better on ground forecast to be softer than ideal.
Goes well for this rider and handles any ground. Unexposed at this trip but has the tools to play a role in this with a strong pace promised.
Windsor winner last term who has found one too good on each of his starts this term. Has hung away from the whip on his last two starts and he will need to be a lot tougher here.
Has winning form at this trip but looks better over shorter. Nevertheless, he should get a good pace to aim at as he needs to be delivered late and races have not worked out that well for him lately.
Runner-up three times this year but will get her favoured ground here (2-8 on a soft surface). Has dropped 4lb below her last winning mark and she has each-way claims.
Dual AW scorer at Newcastle in January ran well first time this summer at Chester but not as competitive last twice. Handicapper eases burden slightly but he would want the ground to dry out.
Has enjoyed a productive campaign and handles any going. Has earned a crack at a decent prize such as this and should go close in receipt of weight all round.
Forecasts
Zeelander (9/4), Archi's Affaire (11/2), Sepal (9/1), Jabbaar (12/1), Mukhayyam (12/1), Baydar (12/1), Belisa (12/1), Theglasgowwarrior (14/1), Desert Ruler (14/1), Eye of The Storm (16/1), Appointed (16/1), Framley Garth (18/1), Stonific (20/1), Fast Dancer (25/1), Zabeel Star (25/1)
Zeelander is hard to recommend having shown a tendency to hang under pressure and ARCHI'S AFFAIR looks a more likely answer. Michael Dods' team are in good form and the selection has been waiting for soft ground. The course specialist was fourth in this last year when denied a clear run and he gets a useful pull with Sepal. Cases can be made for Fast Dancer, Stonific, Appointed and Framley Garth in a thrilling renewal of this historic race.
- Archi's Affaire
- Appointed
- Fast Dancer
