No stranger to success (like a few here) with three C&D wins tucked away already and he's twice a winner already this year. Always looks at his best when dominating small fields he now has to overcome a career-high mark to record another win.
Often seen to good effect around here (four-time C&D winner); back at the minimum trip having had a rare outing over 6f last time (ran very well off his last winning mark). Just 2lb above that mark he's hard to rule out here at his favourite venue.
Built on some earlier promise when scoring over this trip at Pontefract and followed up that win at Carlisle off a 6lb higher mark. Disappointed in his attempt to record a hat-trick in softer conditions last time; faces a sounder surface now.
Struggled a little to get rolling since completing a three-timer in July with those three quick victories taking their toll and the handicapper starting extract his revenge. Outclassed a little in his two most recent starts; bounce back needed.
Confirmed that she had improved when scoring on her 2nd start this year over 5f at Redcar (looked a speedy sort). Has struggled to build on the promise she showed there in four subsequent starts and ran too freely last time.
A win in this race two years ago numbers amongst her four C&D victories that win coming off the same mark (75). Has failed to win off a mark as high as that again and ran poorly last time out over C&D; questions to answer even returned here.
Back to form from out of the blue at Chester in June with the cheekpieces working better the 2nd time he's worn them. Wheels have rather fallen off again since then in three starts rather underlining his unreliable nature.
Unexposed when winning on the AW earlier in the year but hasn't looked in anything like the same sort of form since two turf outings. Both rather tactical affairs he's likely to need more of a test than this sharp 5f provides.
Had struggled to find her form this year until she managed to get off the mark last time out, that return to form coming out of the blue. Now forced into a higher grade but in a race she won last year off this very same rating.
Forecasts
Royal Brave (5/2), War Whisper (11/4), Machree (6/1), Longroom (7/1), Alsvinder (11/1), Kinloch Pride (14/1), Primo's Comet (16/1), Computable (18/1), Economic Crisis (28/1)
Plenty of C&D form to deal with here with five C&D winners in total in the field and it’s one of those ROYAL BRAVE who is the suggestion after his fine run at Ripon last time. He’s only 2lb above his last winning mark with this return to 5f also likely to suit. Longroom is another multiple C&D winner who can’t be ruled out here along with the previous winner of this Economic Crisis although she did run poorly here last time. War Whisper will appreciate a sounder surface and a return to form can’t be ruled out and Kinloch Pride returns to defend her crown having found some form last time.
- Royal Brave
- War Whisper
- Longroom
