Couldn't make much impact when previously dropped to this grade at Newmarket, but has shown enough to suggest that he can get competitive here and the drop back to 6f should not be a problem.

Well held in handicaps from marks in the low-to-middle 60s, on differing ground and including in cheekpieces last time. Needs more than that even now dropped to this level, but champion jockey booked, so check the market.

Showed promise on his first two starts, but form has dipped since being gelded in mid-season. Now enters this sphere with a bit to prove, but if back to something like his early season efforts, he has claims. Cheekpieces now fitted.

Has appeared in this company in all three starts so far, his best effort being when 2L second at Redcar (6f, good to firm) earlier in the month. Well held last time, however, and needs improvement to figure again.

Has been unable to build on the minor promise of his debut effort in a Beverley auction contest in May. Can only watch on his second attempt at this level.

Was subject of a market nibble when going off at 33-1 on debut at Beverley recently, but finished last of 11, beaten 28L there. Drops in trip, into a seller, and with headgear now on. Plenty to prove, but probably worth a market check nonetheless.

Has run to a similar level of form in all of her last four starts, the last two in sellers. 1L third at Redcar last time and is entitled to respect here.

Well held in both starts to date at Thirsk and Beverley. Drops in grade and steps up in trip, but looks best watched until showing more.

Never involved on debut at Beverley (5f, good) in novices' company recently. Immediately switched to this grade. Can only watch.

Well held in three novice contests so far. Blinkers now fitted for this drop in grade and could not rule her out from being competitive in such a weak affair.

Sent off at 9-2 on debut in a Beverley novice event last month, but was green and never dangerous. Should improve for that experience, but will need to do so to take a hand even at this level.

Rock Partyp116
Age: 2|  Weight: 8-9| J: S A Gray| T: K A Ryan| OR:  60

Had shown some promise in novice events and went close when dropped to this grade at Redcar (6f, good to firm) last time. Fully entitled to make the short list here on that evidence, and cheekpieces could help eek out more.

Age: 2|  Weight: 8-9| J: J F Egan| T: M R Channon

Well held in both starts so far, including a seller last time. Not easy to make a case for her.

Forecasts

Five Amarones (9/4), Northern Lass (4/1), Bandola (7/1), Be Proud (7/1), Rock Party (15/2), Bouncin Back (9/1), Brambling (16/1), Walela (18/1), Lang Toun Lady (22/1), Notthewhitehart (25/1), Percy Drake (33/1), Timetodock (50/1), Kemmeridge Bay (66/1)

Verdict

Trainer Richard Fahey has won the last two runnings of this and therefore, despite her moderate debut, Northern Lass has to be respected now switched immediately to this grade. It is also worth noting that she was not allowed to start any bigger than 9-2 on debut. However, ROCK PARTY has already run well at this level and with cheekpieces fitted, she makes more appeal this time. Keep an eye on the market, for there are several others who could come into this, including Five Amarones, Be Proud and Bouncin Back.
  1. Rock Party
  2. Be Proud
  3. Northern Lass
