Best with some cut, but effective between 7f-1m and in good order at present; carries a 6lb penalty for a commanding 3L win here last week (7f, good to soft).

His sole win came in a 7f seller here in August 2017 (5/2f); there or thereabouts in two AW runs last month (Chelmsford), but an unknown as to how he'll cope with this extra furlong.

Winner over an extended mile at Wolverhampton in December, but hadn't achieved much of note on turf until a fair third at Ffos Las (1m2f, good to firm) last month; drop in trip helpful.

Both wins have come over 1m (back in the summer of 2015), but back to form with a ½L defeat by Castle Talbot (runs in the previous race) over 1m1f here recently; can he back that effort up?

Eight race maiden; yet to race on turf, but has failed to beat a single rival on his last two AW starts and can't be considered despite the presence of newly applied headgear (blinkers).

Kept very busy this summer, but not in the same kind of form as when winning twice at this track (6f-1m) during June; likely pace angle, but looks in need of a short break on balance.

Veteran who is a two-time winner in Jersey (Les Landes) this summer, but quite how that form equates to this level is difficult to gauge; opposed.

Foxy Rebel8

12/1
Pacy sort who is essentially a modest performer; shown his best form at Nottingham, but weakened quickly over this trip at Ripon last week (finished 13th of 14).

Calm Charmb153
Age: 4|  Weight: 8-7| J: George Wood| T: C F Wall| OR:  45
16/1
Seven-race maiden who has fallen 15lb in the weights since introduced to handicaps in May; highly unlikely to prove competitive despite the newly applied blinkers.

Wasted Sunsetst54
Age: 4|  Weight: 8-7| J: Hayley Turner| T: John Berry| OR:  45

Lost her action and eased on her return from wind surgery at Nottingham in June (1m½f, good to firm); hard to offer any positive vibes despite this being her handicap debut.

Remarkably has done okay in two starts since returning from a four-and-a-half year absence; makes her turf debut at the age of eight, but others hold far more compelling claims.

Verdict

Numerically a challenging contest and this race should be run at an end to end gallop with no shortage of early pace-setters in the field. Both Molten Lava and Big Bad Lol have implied that their turn mightn't be too far away in their respective recent outings, whilst Little Indian holds outside place claims if able to build upon a solid reappearance third (over 7f). Shyarch (stamina unproven) and Sharp Operator are broadly consistent sorts in this grade, but such was the authoritative manner of the top-weight TOPMEUP('s) win here last week, she's fancied to follow up despite the combination of an extra furlong and faster ground.
