Yard not known for winners in this sphere and she makes little appeal on breeding for her debut today.
70,000gns yearling purchase, will want further in time but very eyecatching debut at Chelmsford when third, not given a hard time yet still came home with a rattle. Will know more here and yard's tend to progress, so looks a big player.
Last of 12 on debut at Newbury (although not completely disgraced) but yard rarely get winners in this sphere. Readily passed over today.
Cost 75,000gns as a yearling, half-brother to a few winners and shaped nicely enough on debut at Chelmsford last month, getting the hang of things late. Yard's horses tend to come on for a run, and he's got chances here if doing so.
Half-brother to the speedy Snap Shots, not disgraced on Chelmsford debut last month but looked one that would need more time. Others make a bit more appeal here.
Relatively cheap purchase that went off 100-1 for his debut at Redcar but was getting the message late on, and finished within shouting distance of the winner. This looks tougher though, so will have needed to have come on plenty for it.
Has had the four starts to date and although not progressing, it's form that gives him a decent chance here. Has had a break since last being seen, and has been gelded too, so may come back fresher and could progress now.
Cost 230,000gns as a foal, has had two starts and got much nearer to Piece Of History the second time around, staying on well for the runner-up spot. That is solid form and for a yard going well, gives him every chance here.
Good debut at Newmarket in July and might have found the race coming too soon for her when a disappointing short-priced favourite a week afterwards at Lingfield. If she can improve a little on debut form for this extra furlong, she's not out of it.
Modest form in two starts, better form coming on debut at Carlisle when a staying-on third. Needs this for a mark in nurseries, which is where her chance may lie. Others preferred.
Forecasts
Tiffin Top (6/4), With A Start (7/4), Dixieland Diva (7/1), Autumn War (9/1), Shaji (12/1), Joie De Vivre (22/1), Stand Firm (25/1), Moving Mountains (50/1), Ensign Ewart (66/1), Tangasseri (100/1)
Tiffin Top may do better for having been gelded, and With A Start is clearly going the right way, but AUTUMN WAR looked a winner in waiting after his Chelsmford debut and he wouldn't need a huge step forward from that to win this. The danger could be Dixieland Diva if you forgive a poor effort last time out.
- Autumn War
- Dixieland Diva
- With A Start
