Not seen the winner's enclosure since landing a quick double in summer 2016. Competitive off similar marks in 2017 but less so in lone start this term back in May. May need the run here so others preferred.
Dual AW winner unplaced in all eight previous turf starts. Close fourth over C&D two starts ago her best run for a while before not for the first time seeming not to get 6f here since. 3lb lower than C&D fourth so could go well here.
Enjoyed first visit here when gaining her maiden victory in a C&D handicap last time out making all to scoot in by 4L. 8lb higher here and likelihood of much different ground but still looks a leading player.
Improved on Chepstow reappearance when a good second over 5f at Thirsk last time out (good to soft). Handicapper aids with a further 1lb back so hopes surely high today with prospect of further improvement.
Useful AW performer is unsuccessful thus far on turf. Fifth of eight here latest better than bare form given she was only beaten 1L. Handicapper continues to assist so can't be dismissed despite poor strike rate.
Only beat three horses home in as many starts so far with all runs on AW in Novice contests. Remains to be seen how she handles opening lowly handicap mark but six month absence a worry here.
Left previously moderate form behind when winning at 25/1 at Thirsk latest (good-to-soft) over 6f. Raised 6lb here and has to show she is as effective at the minimum distance but best days may be ahead of her.
Not really built on the promise of a second here over 6f three starts back with a sixth at Brighton and eighth here last time. Drop to 5f may help and eased again by handicapper but a risky proposition based on last two runs.
Four-time winner on ground from good to soft to good to firm. Won at 6f at Nottingham this term in a campaign mostly split between 6f and 7f. Drop to minimum distance may be against him here so others preferred.
Unplaced in eight career starts to date. Fair efforts at Ayr the last twice in midfield but can't take advantage of latest handicap drop here so best avoided.
Beaten at least 18L in all of his five career starts and tailed off latest over C&D where he walked home over 100L behind. Impossible to fancy.
Forecasts
Good Business (7/2), Drop Kick Murphi (4/1), Jan's Joy (11/2), Another Situation (6/1), Atlanta Belle (13/2), Devil Or Angel (7/1), Asheena (11/1), John Joiner (20/1), Purple Dragon (25/1), Encoded (33/1), Caledonia Earl (33/1)
DEVIL OR ANGEL can take advantage of the handicapper's good will gesture of giving her 1lb back despite finishing second last time out at Thirsk. Jan's Joy is obviously a danger having fairly bolted up over C&D latest but carries an extra 8lb today and could find the conditions quite different. Another Situation was a shock winner last time out but it would be no such surprise were she to land this contest based on that Thirsk run.
- Devil Or Angel
- Jan's Joy
- Another Situation
