Joined this yard for £16,000 in January having enjoyed a good 2017 for Tom Dascombe, scoring twice over 1m4f. Conditions have turned favourable but he has not looked like a winner in waiting on his last five starts.
Prolific winner who can count two bumper wins and a Flat success at this track amongst his tally. Won three races under this rider in 2017 and handles soft ground, but questionable that he can defy his current handicap mark.
Has won three times on a testing surface from 1m-1m6f. Just 3lb higher than last winning mark and will have found conditions too quick on his last two starts.
Shaped well last time given the lack of cut in the ground. Has won here previously and the return to 1m6f is another positive.
Made favourite and comfortably justified the odds latest in a weak race at Doncaster when upped to this trip for the first time. 7lb hike and softer ground makes life tougher.
Has one win and two seconds from three visits here. Handles soft ground and will have no difficulty with the trip. Competitively weighted and in fair form lately over hurdles.
Former Dante and Derby entry finished fourth at Ascot in what has developed into a hot maiden. Has looked one paced in both starts since over this trip. Handled soft ground on his debut and it will be hoped that will spark some improvement.
Sprang a surprise when a narrow winner on her second career start but she has finished well behind that runner-up on her next two outings.
Below his best on his last six starts over hurdles and without a win on the Flat since 2014. Off since April and he has a modest record after a break.
Forecasts
Sharja Silk (6/4), Hawridge Flyer (11/4), Roystonia (13/2), Garbanzo (11/1), Nordic Combined (11/1), Rolling Maul (12/1), Nabhan (20/1), Azari (33/1), Late Shipment (66/1)
Connections of Sharja Silk have held higher aspirations for him than this and will now be crossing their fingers that he can get his head in front now conditions are placing less emphasis on speed. Garbanzo faces a much sterner examination than last time, but Nabhan goes well here and likes some cut in the ground. A similar remark applies to HAWRIDGE FLYER who is dropped in class after a good effort last time when conditions would have been too lively. Nordic Combined is feared most as all three of his victories have been gained on soft ground and Jim Crowley has been booked to ride.
- Hawridge Flyer
- Nordic Combined
- Sharja Silk
