Yet to win after 14 starts (three hurdles) but was making late progress in a stronger grade at Sandown. Down a further 2lb and open to further improvement now down in class. Looks a good opportunity.
A winner over two furlongs shorter before blowing the start over a further drop in distance. Has run well twice previously at this far, including over the C&D and one of the more likely types.
Form regressed last season for Brian Ellison and has just one win since 2015. Best watched on stable and seasonal debut.
Ran the best race of his career (on just the third for this stable) when narrowly failing to land a gamble. Possible there is more to come with this increase in stamina test and looks a danger.
Nine-race maiden who had done most of racing in low grade AW races before being well held on just his second start on turf. Needs to find plenty for this step up in distance.
Just got going too late over two miles when running a career best on his third start for his new yard. Doesn't necessarily look as though he wants the drop back in trip but does look like he should be winning soon.
Has moved stables once again, this time from Ruth Carr, for whom he returned from a near two year absence with three well held efforts. Was well beaten again on seasonal and stable debut and hard to see much upside at his age.
Tailed off at huge odds last twice and continues to show little encouragement. Impossible to make a case for at present.
Showed nice improvement when narrowly denied over a strongly run two miles and clearly has plenty more improvement still to come with stamina tests. Looks a leading contender.
Sent off at triple figure odds in all three starts to date and tailed off in each. Runs from out of the weights on handicap debut and best watched.
Forecasts
Calliope (5/2), Bill Cody (11/4), Hernandes (7/2), So Near So Farhh (11/2), Urban Spirit (11/1), Sunhill Lad (16/1), Rock On Bollinski (33/1), Kissesforeveryone (33/1), Tropical Bachelor (66/1), Lots Ov (100/1)
So Near So Farhh really ran on well over the two miles and like Urban Spirit look contenders while the drop back in trip is not necessarily in their favour. HERNANDES is also a maiden and for a shrewd trainer has plenty more to come over this sort of distance, particularly down in grade. Bill Cody could be the main danger now up in trip and it will be interesting to see if the money comes for him again.
- Hernandes
- Bill Cody
- So Near So Farhh
