Gained a handicap win on his debut in that sphere at Newmarket in May over this trip looking as though he was a sort to progress further. Looked as though he would be suited by further but that didn't look the case last time; cheekpieces now go on.

Off the mark in her second race as a juvenile switched to the AW having made a promising debut in a strong Newmarket maiden. Made a belated comeback this year and appeared to be amiss dropping away very quickly upped to this trip; handicap debut.

Had already shown promise before taking a real leap forward last time on the AW (Tapeta) to score with plenty in hand having looked a strong stayer (made all). Well berthed to repeat those tactics on his handicap debut and has leading claims.

Jockey/trainer have a good record when they team up and did so for this one's latest victory at Nottingham (first-time hood). Has to cope with a 6lb penalty against some improving types that he didn't encounter in his last start but should go well.

Both his handicap starts so far have shown promise although his finishing effort on both occasions has looked a little weak after he had travelled well into the race. Needs to start finishing off his races to be of interest and others look stronger.

Successful on his handicap/turf debut in a first-time visor he was hit by the handicapper but has subsequently performed well off a higher mark (won off 8lb higher last time). Did well to win in the circumstances last time and remains of interest.

Verdict

A race full of interest with those already successful in handicaps now tested against some making their debuts in this sphere. Night Errant has already shown himself to be capable in handicaps doing well to win after stumbling just as the race was taking shape at Windsor last time but he does have to cope with a career-high mark now and like Jack Regan may just find it hard coping with the handicap newcomers. That group would be headed by MISTER AMBASSADOR who has improved on each of his starts and has already finished just ahead of Monoxide in a Newbury maiden when the pair were 4th and 5th. John Gosden’s charge looks ready to make further progress having won well at Newcastle last time.
  1. Mister Ambassador
  2. Jack Regan
  3. Knight Errant
