In good form for his new yard having already won twice following up an impressive Goodwood win with a narrow Leicester victory. Up in grade after than he couldn't complete the hat-trick; may well be that the handicapper now has him in his clutches.
Game front-runner who rarely runs a poor race and gained a deserved first win of the season at Beverley on his penultimate start over 2m. In a deeper contest at York last time he again ran with his usual enthusiasm; sure to go well again.
Usually runs his race around here and often goes from the front which may get him into an early battle with Stormin Tom. Winner of a claimer around here In June he's since won at Doncaster (had the run of the race); mark creeping up again.
Back to his best this year and this may well be run to suit as this hold-up performer likes a good pace to run at although he has to overcome a poor run last time. Should be capable off this mark with the trip to suit but bounce back needed.
Course winner here over 2m on his penultimate start but this may be a little on the sharp side based on the evidence of his Haydock run last time. Mark looks workable but the worries over the trip mean others take precedence in the pecking order.
Two wins at shorter earlier in the year her form looked to have levelled off a little once she hit this mark which she has been beaten off three times. Tries this trip for the first time in an effort to eke out some more progress; mark still a test.
Twice an AW winner in the spring at up to 1m4f she's been beaten in all three starts since although the last two came in loftier company than she faces today. Did well to hang on as long as she did last time at Newcastle; needs to settle better.
Forecasts
Sea Youmzain (7/2), Stormin Tom (7/2), Casima (7/2), Panko (9/2), Airton (8/1), Ingleby Hollow (10/1), Be Perfect (14/1)
An intriguing contest that should be run at a good pace; Stormin Tom is bound to go forward and will run his usual game race but he may not have things all his own way with Be Perfect in the field but his handicap mark could once again be getting a little lofty again to add a fifth course win. Sea Youmzain, Panko and Airton also look to have work to do off their current marks and with Ingleby Hollow having to bounce back that leaves CASIMA who ran well at Newcastle last time in a far harder contest that she faces here. It’s not easy making the running at that track and with a good pace likely here and with a hood back on she may be able to improve the trainer’s 2-4 record at the track.
- Casima
- Stormin Tom
- Ingleby Hollow
