Stepped forward from her debut when winning at Nottingham last time looking far more the finished article than she had at Ripon on her first start. Looks the sort to go on improving and will be suited by 6f.
By Zoffany out of a half-sister to Royal Lodge winner Foundation. Cost 40,000 gns as a yearling, but didn't show a great deal on debut at Haydock last month, and must leave that effort behind.
Hooded for Thirsk debut over 5f, and hinted at ability, but she has not built on that at all in two subsequent starts, and easy to swerve despite the return of headgear now.
Finished a close second when making her debut over this trip at Thirsk in June. Only fourth at Doncaster last time, but form of that race has worked out very well, and she even a repeat of that would give her strong claims.
Down the field on both starts to date and needs to improve considerably to figure in an above-average contest.
By Dark Angel out of an unraced sister to smart middle-distance performer Mighty. Hails from a powerful yard, but one which is just 1-29 with juveniles at this track in recent years.
Bred to be speedy, but she's been outpaced when down the field on both outings to date over 5f. Any improvement likely to come when handicapping.
Half sister to yard's useful sprinter Favourite Girl, and sent off favourite for debut here in May. Failed to trouble the judge then, and ran even worse after a break at Thirsk recently. Something to prove now.
Half-sister to winning sprinters Survived and Six Wives; shaped with promise when third of 11 to Queen Jo Jo at Beverley despite racing wide throughout. Open to plenty of improvement, and shortlisted.
Society Rock half-sister to 7f winner Princess Way and a winner at up to 1m in Sweden. Yard 4-17 in similar events here since 2009, so worth a market check.
Swiss Spirit half-sister to useful sprinter Secret Missile and 7f winner Novinophobia. Some appeal on pedigree, and yard had a 2-y-o debutant winner at York in May, but low draw may be troublesome.
First foal of a 2-y-o 1m winner. Both yard's juvenile runners here in last two seasons have won, and this newcomer by Oasis Dream is respected, especially if strong in the betting.
Forecasts
Evie Speed (7/4), Dame Gladys (10/3), Royal Destiny (4/1), Whimsical Dream (8/1), Amelia R (12/1), Kalia Asha (16/1), Sophia Maria (22/1), Society Girl (33/1), Raquelle (50/1), Lang Toun Lady (50/1), Darwina (80/1), Jasmine B (100/1)
Assuming the field doesn't split. DAME GLADYS looks better drawn than main form rival Evie Speed, and she should make a bold bid, but it's not a two-horse race by any means, and Royal Destiny should also play a part after a considerate introduction at Beverley. Whimsical Dream looks best of the newcomers, especially given her yard's record at this track.
- Dame Gladys
- Evie Speed
- Royal Destiny
