Looks feasibly handicapped from his form from the start of the season but he's been struggling since, including when beaten here earlier in the week and he's probably better over 5f.

Age: 4|  Weight: 9-8| J: W Buick| T: S & E Crisford| OR:  86| D

Running well in defeat in his last couple of starts, most recently at Chelmsford when a fair second. Would need to take a step forward from that to have a say here but the booking of Buick is eye-catching and he's feasibly handicapped.

Plenty to like about his winning return at Kempton in April but he's been disappointing on turf subsequently. May need more relief from the handicapper before he gets his head back in front.

Hasn't won on turf since 2015 but his last couple of runs have been more encouraging. A fast 6f could well be his optimum trip and though he can race keenly, he's sure to get plenty of cover here. Not ruled out.

In the form of his life this year, winning three races on the spin at this course (two over C&D). Disappointed from his revised mark last time at Lingfield but he can't be ruled out given his course form.

His last couple of wins have come on AW and while he ran okay at Sandown on his latest start, his best form is all at 5f. Well above his last winning turf mark and others preferred.

Has only won twice in his 37 starts, the latter of which came here over 7f more than two years ago. Has failed to win for this yard yet but he's run some fair races in defeat, including in the Scurry at the Curragh last time. Each-way possibilities.

Out of sorts at Epsom last time, but in reasonable form at a lower level prior to that. Has a course win to his name but has never won from a mark this high on turf and he looks vulnerable here.

C&D winner who won twice on AW over the winter. Form this year has been poor but he's getting back down to a reasonable mark now and the booking of Moore catches the eye.

Yet to win or place in seven attempts on turf but his better efforts have come on quicker ground and he has that in his favour here. Feasibly handicapped if he could replicate his AW form and he's fared well with the draw.

Won this in 2015 but only has one win to his name since and he's yet to get off the mark for this yard. Running well in defeat on his last couple of starts, including in a competitive Ascot handicap last time and very well-handicapped on old form.

Only has one win to his name from 22 turf starts. Disappointed last having run well at Ascot the time before and his inconsistency is off-putting.

Has won each of his three races at Ayr and two of those came over 7f. The booking of De Sousa is eye-catching but he arrives on a career high mark here and his run last time out was below par.

Consistent sort but doesn't win often and it's over two years since his last success. Likely a race will come his way at some point and the drop back in trip looks in his favour.

More effective on AW than turf but he got his head back in front at Chester in June. Has a course win to his name and he's capable off this sort of mark so can't be ruled out.

Age: 4|  Weight: 9-1| J: George Wood| T: Mrs A J Perrett| OR:  79| D

Losing run starting to mount up but he's becoming dangerously well-handicapped on old form as a result. Yet to win for this yard but the drop back in trip looks in his favour here.

Yet to win or place in 18 starts on turf (has won seven times on AW). Likely to fall to a mark he can get competitive off at some stage and he's never had a mark lower than this on turf. Hard to entirely rule out.

He's lightly raced compared to most in here and has won two of his three starts this year. Carries a 6lb penalty for his latest win but this wouldn't be the strongest renewal of the race and he makes some each-way appeal.

Has just won once since 2015 and that came with some cut in the ground, a requirement he seems to need these days. Well beaten last time and hard to fancy.

Verdict

GOLDEN STEPS is too well-handicapped to ignore on his old form and he's produced two promising placed efforts on recent starts. Militia is less exposed than most in here and may be capable of defying his 6lb penalty while Boy In The Bar is a course and distance winner who gets Ryan Moore taking over in the saddle.
