Improved for the switch to handicaps when running well behind an easy winner at Kempton (6f, AW) in June. Had as short break and drops down to minimum trip but on the upgrade and solid claims with blinkers on first time.
Improved of late winning two on the bounce including over this C&D. Couldn't quite cope with the rise in class and the penalty at Doncaster (6f, good to soft) last time. Sounds claims now back in a class 5 here.
Won here over C&D in February off a 4lb lower mark. Looked in need of the run on the back of a break at Kempton last time and has sound claims back here with leading claimer taking off a handy 5lbs.
Hood brought about a little improvement last time when not beaten too far at all. Has dropped to a pretty tempting mark based on his juvenile form and likely to come good sooner rather than later. Likes to lead.
Won a small novice event on the AW at Lingfield last October. Has found life pretty tough so far in handicaps this year but mark is dropping as a result. Needs a step forward here but not totally dismissed of returning to form.
Not been with this yard very long and is now only 1lb higher than when bolting up at Kempton in October. Better effort last time and riders claim brings him right into this.
Not done much at all under rules and hasn't beaten a rival home in her last three starts. This will be tough going from out the weights.
Forecasts
Three Little Birds (2/1), Capla Demon (9/4), Bomad (11/4), Jonnysimpson (10/1), Brandy Station (14/1), Avon Green (20/1), Go Sandy (250/1)
A tricky little opener where fair claims can be made for several of them. CAPLA DEMON is the selection to come out on top having run well behind an easy winner on handicap debut. Blinkers go on for the first time here on he has bagged stall 1 so has sound claims of a first victory. Avon Green should be cherry ripe now and is interesting under Nicola Currie. Jonnysimpson is lurking on a dangerous mark now and is also respected.
