Began with a couple of very promising efforts over this trip in the spring, but last two runs have been below that level. Initial mark looks fair based on those first two runs, so if he can bounce back, he has decent claims.

Scored on debut at Bath (5f, good) in May. Surpassed that effort when second at Chepstow (5f, soft) in June. Largely consistent, though was last from just 3lb higher on his nursery debut, so more needed here.

Has already won at both Southwell (5f, AW) and Wetherby (5½f, good to firm) in novices' events. Has a couple of tough tasks since, but not disgraced last time in the Super Sprint. Needs more to win from this initial mark, however.

Ran to a similar level of form in all his first four starts, on good through to soft ground without winning. Below that last time. Drops back to minimum trip for nursery debut and should be very competitive from this mark if headgear works.

Another dual winner of novice races who makes her nursery debut. Plenty to like about how easily she did it at Hamilton last time and that gave the impression that this mark is very workable. Claims.

Steady improver whose best effort was last time, when ½L second at Hamilton (5f, good to firm). Initial handicap mark looks fair, with more to come from him. Should be thereabouts.

Forecasts

World Order (9/4), Diviner (5/2), Broken Spear (4/1), Cococabala (13/2), Packington Lane (9/1), Big Boots (11/1)

Verdict

World Order has the best form going into this, as his mark would suggest, but he will probably need to be right back to his best to defy it and after two lesser efforts he might just be worth taking on with DIVINER. Mark Johnston's filly won well last time and could take advantage of the handicapper's assessment of her. Packington Lane is interesting, while Broken Spear could also go close.
  1. Diviner
  2. Broken Spear
  3. World Order
