Winner of one of his 26 starts over obstacles and a distant third to the the market principals last weekend.
Doncaster Rover gelding, dam has more of a NH pedigree and he has finished last on both career starts.
Unraced gelded son of Medicean bought for 6,000 gns at the sales as a yearling. Half-brother to a couple of winners but never a threat on debut and he will need more time.
Has now produced two back to back runs of a higher standard than his rivals. Has been gelded since his last run and a hood is fitted so there are some alarm bells.
Clodovil gelding out of an unraced half-sister to a Group 3 winner. Bred to handle the ground so worth checking in the market.
Sent off at 200/1 on debut when tailed off. Not bred to go this far and easy to oppose.
€75,000 purchase who has finished fourth of five on both starts. Has left the impression there is better to come and this trip will help. Owner likes to have winners here so worth a market check.
Mastercraftsman colt out of an unraced mare (Catopuma). Half-brother to various winners including Fire Leopard (1m2f-1m4f) and Kip (1m4f). Shaped well on debut over what looked an inadequate trip and conditions more favourable here.
Local Helvellyn newcomer out of an AW winner over 1m-1m2f who also landed a bumper. Stable not renowned for winning Flat debutants so it would be a surprise if she proved good enough.
Forecasts
Loveisili (1/3), Tinsmith (3/1), Our Power (7/1), Lzaaz (10/1), Highlife Flyer (20/1), Berry De Carjac (33/1), Christabella (40/1), Endean (50/1), Mr Today (100/1)
Loveisili is the undoubted form pick but his stable have been finding some of their horses running below expectations. Roger Charlton is also operating at a lower than usual strike rate and although Tinsmith should improve over this trip he may have to wait for another day. In contrast Alan King's team are in great shape and OUR POWER is another who looks set to improve for the extra yardage.
