Best effort so far when close second of 9 to Forseti in maiden at Salisbury in June, and contested a strong maiden over C&D last time. May yet do better, but little wiggle room with opening mark.

Consistent since breaking her duck in a 5f Nottingham novice in May, and proved her stamina for this trip when runner-up in a Leicester nursery last week behind Greeley. Should give her running again from unchanged mark.

Improved to win a 6f novice at Carlisle last month, and matched that form when second of 4 to Aurag in similar event at Hamilton next time. Looks to have been handed a stiff mark for nurseries, however, and others preferred.

Runner-up to Urban Icon on first two starts (winner Group 1 entered), and better than result when again second at Chester last time, caught wide throughout. Well treated for nursery bow, and leading claims.

Found some improvement when runner-up at Brighton on penultimate start, and proved stamina for this trip when just reeled in there last time, albeit seen to maximum effect in 3-runner race. More required now handicapping.

Tried in cheekpieces, and improved on previous efforts when ½L second of 4 to Octave in nursery at Pontefract last time despite finding 6f trip on the sharp side. Should do better again, and one to bear in mind.

Slow starts a feature of all three runs, his best effort when fourth of 11 to Julius Limbani in 7f maiden at Sandown in June. Failed to back that up at Haydock next time, however, and blinkers reached for now.

Swiss Peak29

Best effort in a trio of novice runs when 1¾L fifth of 12 to Happy Odyssey over 6f here last month. Gelded and given a break since then, and returns with yard in fine form. Respected.

His fourth to Marie's Diamond at Chester has worked out very well, but that hasn't escaped the handicapper's attention. Respectable efforts on both nursery starts so far, and looks as if he will need an even stiffer test to blossom.

Had shown a little ability in qualifying runs, but gelded prior to nursery debut at Leicester last week, and showed much improved form to beat Delft Dancer by 2L. Penalty my not be enough to stop him following up.

Gunforhire29
Age: 2|  Weight: 8-5| J: David Egan| T: R Hannon| OR:  64
14/1
Some promise on debut at Windsor in May, and while he hasn't built on that in two runs since, he shaped better than the result over 6f here last time, staying on late, and should do better in nurseries.

Forecasts

Even Keel (15/8), Greeley (9/2), Dombra (6/1), Delft Dancer (13/2), Swiss Peak (12/1), Gunforhire (14/1), Glorious Dane (16/1), Red Hut Red (16/1), Five Helmets (20/1), Xtara (33/1), Treasure Quest (33/1)

Verdict

GREELEY was well on top at the finish in a competitive event at Leicester on his nursery bow, and he's worth supporting to defy a penalty given the manner of that success from Delft Dancer. Even Keel has shown plenty in three runs, and appeals ast the main stumbling block, although there is more to come from the likes of Red Hut Red, Swiss Peak and Gunforhire.
  1. Greeley
  2. Even Keel
  3. Swiss Peak
