Generally been in good form lately, finished his race off well to grab second here last time out (5f) and this step back up to 6f looks a major positive, given he got outpaced there. Ground ideal and ought to go close if running his race.

Falling back to a very tempting looking mark and after a series of moderate efforts, did bounce back to a certain extent when third at Newcastle last time. Ground would be a concern though (withdrawn due to quick conditions in May).

Showed the benefits of a break and wind surgery when defeating Muatadel here last time out (5f) and on same terms, clearly holds every chance but extra furlong here very much in the latter's favour and as such, is no certainty to confirm the form.

Good winner at Chepstow in June but two efforts since then have been less encouraging, and he faded out of things disappointingly quickly at Salisbury last time. Hard to find an excuse for that, and may just have gone off the boil.

Deserved his win at Carlisle in June after knocking on the door in his previous two starts, and might have been a bit unlucky not to follow up at Catterick last time, denied a run at key times. Could easily bounce back to winning ways here.,

Came good at Thirsk last time, a win that came a bit out of the blue as his previous efforts hadn't suggested he was about to strike. Has never followed up a win with another (although has gone close), but mark still looks workable.

Been in very good form and continued in that vein with another good second at Newbury last time out. That was over 7f, but had the pace to win over 5½f at Bath in June, so this trip not an issue. Chances again.

Have to go back to November 2016 to find the last time she visited the winners circle, and although she ran on through beaten horses to grab fourth at Nottingham last time, she was still well held. Plenty on her plate again here.

Now on a 3lb lower mark than last win, which came last August at Thirsk over this trip, and just possible he's on the way back after a better effort when fourth at Chelmsford last time. Chances of the places if building on that.

No win and just a handful of places from 34 starts to show for his efforts, well beaten on most starts recently (over both 6f and 7f) and appears to have little chance of making it 35th time lucky.

Better known for his Fibresand exploits these days, but basically looks very much on the downgrade and likely to need this after an absence.

Forecasts

Point Of Woods (3/1), Muatadel (4/1), Eastern Racer (7/1), Vincenzo Coccotti (15/2), Burtonwood (8/1), Gloriux (8/1), Savannah Beau (9/1), Swanton Blue (10/1), Extrasolar (12/1), Le Manege Enchante (25/1), Jacksonfire (100/1), Very First Blade (100/1)

Verdict

Point Of Woods was good enough to beat MUATADEL here last time out but this extra furlong is very much in the latter's favour and he can take his revenge here. Extrasolar found all the trouble going at Catterick last time out and it's best to concentrate on his earlier win to realise he has a decent chance here. Vincenzo Cocotti and Le Manege Enchante are both of interest for each-way players.
  1. Muatadel
