Has run well enough in three starts for this trainer, two of them around here, without threatening to win. Back up in trip, likely to be settling for minor role again.

Gone down fighting in second in two recent starts here over 1m5f, mark unchanged for latest of those, should go well once more with new cheekpieces added.

Best form has come on a rattling fast surface and trainer has his string in fine tune right now, remains a maiden however and lack of consistency has to rank a concern.

Made all to score in first-time cheekpieces (retained) at Chepstow this month (1m4f, good to firm). Runs from 3lb higher mark now and stamina is not assured on first attempt at this distance.

Five-times AW winner, but is 0-21 on turf following latest reverse at Chepstow. Rated much higher on the AW, but doesn't seem ready to take advantage of mark in this sphere.

Forecasts

High Wells (13/8), Kath's Legacy (15/8), King Calypso (5/1), Galileo's Spear (11/2), Glens Wobbly (8/1)

Verdict

Kath's Legacy can be an awkward ride at times but she did score last time at Chepstow and resolved some of the concerns over her stamina by staying a mile and a half. That said, she faces further this time and could be vulnerable given her quirks so the vote goes to HIGH WELLS, who has twice settled for second here recently and could pull out some with new headgear added from an untouched mark this time. Glens Wobbly and Galileo's Spear are likely to be in the skirmishes for minor money.
  1. High Wells
  2. Kath's Legacy
  3. Galileo's Spear
