Always up in the front rank when breaking his duck at the third attempt, as a 3+L C&D winner last month (third has won since); penalty to carry, but well drawn to attack from stall number two.
Unraced gelding who is bred for a much stiffer test of stamina than this opening 6f trip; by the 2007 Derby winner Authorized out of a Shirocco mare (Al Jasrah), he's likely to come into his own further down the line; trainer saddles three runners.

Cost just €4,500 as a yearling, and yet to show any signs of real ability in a couple of AW spins (6f-7f); trainer also saddles Mysusy.

40,000gns foal, 68,000gns yearling; half-brother to four winners including Justonefortheroad (7f-1m+). Promising debut second to Watchmyeverymove at Windsor (6f, good to firm) last month and this race rates as a reasonable next option.

Unraced first foal by Dansili out of a 6f AW juvenile winner (Much Promise) who was a half-sister to the 1m4f Group 1 (Oaks) winner Talent; market a useful guide; stable 9/71 (13%) here since 2007.
Unraced fourth foal by Garswood out of the 1m-1m2f winning dam Paquerettza; half-brother to 6f AW juvenile winner Continental Lady, but represents a trainer who supplies another couple of newcomers in this race.

Cost 30,000gns as a juvenile, and is a half-brother to Italian 7.5f winner Rumba Star; not set the world alight so far, but showed some minor improvement from first start to second when finishing sixth of 12 to Typhoon Ten at Kempton (6f).

Age: 2|  Weight: 8-11| J: J Mitchell| T: H Spiller
66/1
Cost 18,500gns as a juvenile as a half-sister to the 5f-6f winner Gold Filigree; not managed to beat too many rivals in a couple of starts so far, including over 7f here latest; trainer also saddles Picture Poet.
Unraced fourth foal by Champs Elysees out of the 1m-1m1f+ winner Florentina; sister to Cote D'Azur (7f-1m2f) and a half-sister to a couple of other winners; trainer also saddles two other runners.

Forecasts

Shanghai Grace (8/11), Quiet Endeavour (5/4), Tinto (14/1), Picture Poet (25/1), The Game Is On (25/1), Such Promise (40/1), Calling The Wind (50/1), Ramatuelle (50/1), Mysusy (66/1), Remission (100/1)

Verdict

Sir Mark Prescott utilises this additional AW fixture in order to get some valuable racing experience for three of his unraced horses, but the likeliest winner lies elsewhere. C&D scorer Quiet Endeavour will be rightly popular despite the penalty from his handy berth in stall number two, but he can be taken on with SHANGHAI GRACE. The Charles Hills-trained colt made a pleasing first impression when boxing on late to fill the runner-up berth behind Watchmyeverymove at Windsor (6f) last month, and looks fully capable of progressing quickly now switched to Polytrack.
  1. Shanghai Grace
  2. Quiet Endeavour
  3. Such Promise
