Valcartier could be dangerous dropped in class and fitted with blinkers by John Gosden, but he does need to step up on recent efforts, and preference is for KAANOON, who has won readily on his last two starts, and remains open to improvement now handicapping. The Emperor Within may have found 7f too sharp at Newmarket last time, and had been progressing well prior to that, so needs consideration stepping up to a trip which should suit on breeding.
