Back to form when successful at Chepstow last time out, and her close second at Beverley in May suggests she'll be just as happy at this track. Not much pace on here so if getting across from a tricky draw, every chance of following up.
Handicapper offers a helping hand after a couple of moderate efforts this year, drop back to a mile looks no bad thing and now looks well treated if he can refind his best form of last year. A risky proposition then, but not discounted.
Didn't run terribly on handicap debut at Salisbury last time out and given he looked short of pace there, this stiffer track should suit. Graham Lee taking over from inexperienced 7lb claimer could help too, and he may improve today.
Has a few placings to show for his efforts but no win on the board in 10 starts as yet, but these conditions look fine and uphill finish won't pose a problem. Handicapper keeps dropping him bit by bit, and he may get among the places.
Looks regressive already, although latest couple of efforts do suggest that a stiffer track might help his cause, and he does get headgear for the first time. Yard no great record here and others make more appeal.
Finished off last year on a winning note, but it was a weak affair at Newcastle and judging by his 33/1 price tag on his reappearance at Redcar last month, little was expected. Well beaten there and questions to answer now.
Went off huge prices first four starts but clearly better was expected on handicap debut at Wetherby, went off just 15/2 and only just denied victory. Up 4lb but a major surprise if he doesn't improve again and must be taken seriously.
First couple of starts this season suggested that he might be up to winning a race but has gone backwards since and was well beaten at Newcastle last time. Hard to fancy in current mood and others simply look stronger.
Not going anywhere quickly at present but a drop back in trip at Wetherby last time at least produced a better effort. Handicapper drops him another 3lb, which will help, and if there's a good pace on early, she could pick up some pieces late on.
Beaten out of sight on all five starts so far and the addition of a first-time tongue tie will need t have a major effect. No realistic chance on what he's shown so far.
No show in four starts but was sent off 7/2 favourite on handicap debut at Wetherby last time and clearly better was expected. On that, worth a look in the market for a yard that don't have many runners here, as any money for him needs noting.
Forecasts
Mearing (3/1), The Throstles (7/2), One Flew Over (9/2), Archie Perkins (11/2), Ideal Candy (10/1), French Flyer (10/1), Aliento (12/1), Chikoko Trail (16/1), Golden Guide (33/1), Sir Derrick (33/1), Austellus (66/1)
A mixed bunch ability wise. A market move for One Flew Over could be interesting, as he was clearly well fancied on his handicap debut at Wetherby but blew out. As it stands, IDEAL CANDY is taken to follow up her recent win as there's little pace on here, and she may be allowed to dictate once again. Chikoko Trail could do better now getting a more experienced jockey on board, and both Golden Guide and Mearing hold place chances as well.
- Ideal Candy
- Golden Guide
- Chikoko Trail
