Will need a strongly run race over this reduced 6f trip, with the onus partly on his young rider to help to set those stiff early fractions; stays well and unbeaten in two starts at this track; major chance under a 6lb penalty.
Front-runner who faces potential competition for the lead; 6f median auction maiden winner at Yarmouth (made all) in May, who was beaten just in excess of 2L on handicap debut (Class 3) at Chelmsford recently.
Showed early speed, but weakened on her return to action at Newmarket last month (6f) and really needs to be hanging in tougher for longer here off a 3lb lower mark; C&D fillies maiden winner in September 2017 (good).
Narrow winner of a soft ground 5.5f Bath median auction stakes in October 2017, but hasn't achieved a great deal since wind surgery and for the switch into handicap company; opposed.
Nine-race maiden who has proved to be fairly consistent overall (5f-6f); fourth and nearest at the finish when beaten just over 2L by Glamorous Rocket on quick ground at Windsor (5f) last month; closely matched with Firenze Rosa.
Won just once in 14 starts (5f good to soft, Lingfield), but back to form with a decent run at Windsor latest, beaten just over 1L by Glamorous Rocket (Spanish Star fourth).
Forecasts
Starboy (7/4), Spanish Star (4/1), Lalania (4/1), Lady Marigold (9/2), Wear It Well (9/1), Firenze Rosa (10/1)
A big responsibility is placed on the shoulders of Gabriele Malune in order to maximise the winning chance of last week's penalised course winner STARBOY. In plenty of ways the selection is probably vulnerable as a 7f specialist, but a strong pace looks likely throughout with fellow front-runner Lalania in the field and assuming that this young claimer goes quick enough early (but not too quick in order to set it up for a finisher like Spanish Star), the George Scott-trained runner should make it three from three at the track.
- Starboy
- Spanish Star
- Lalania
