Lightly-raced filly who still looks to be learning and was ridiculously highly tried last time in a Group 1. Better judged on her other two runs which have shown some promise with her Haydock third in a novice the best so far; makes handicap debut.
The one older horse in the field she's a winner over further in France but has yet to score in GB. Taken a couple of runs to get going for this yard but shaped well enough on her last two starts (keen last time); showed she has speed for this test.
Got off the mark for the year last time making all over 7f at Carlisle gaining a reward for some consistent previous efforts (showed a good attitude). Looks as though she will be suited by this trip and could get the run of the race; up another 3lb.
Progressed steadily in three runs this year gaining her initial victory last time with a battling/narrow win at Thirsk (1m, good). Beat one who had shown fair form and looks as though she should continue on her upward path; handicap debut.
Ran her best race last time making her stable/handicap debut after an 8 month break (well backed) and only just touched off by an equally unexposed rival. Nudged up 2lb here she is capable of running a big race but has to cope with a rise in grade.
Forecasts
Bedwyyah (5/2), Miss Mumtaz (11/4), Kalagia (3/1), Fashion Theory (4/1), Nkosikazi (7/1)
Only a quintet of runners but each is of interest in their own way in a complex little heat. Top weight Nkosikazi will appreciate this grade more making her handicap debut but she may well have run into a couple of progressive types here in Miss Mumtaz and BEDWYYAH. The former almost landed a gamble last time and loos sure to go well again but does have to cope with a higher grade and it’s the latter who is taken to land this for a stable that has really hit their stride in the last few weeks and generally do well here. Fashion Theory has to settle better than she did last time to cope with the younger brigade while the rise in the weights could well find out Kalagia.
