Improved on her first start to win at the second attempt at Kempton (7f, AW) last week. All out there to hold on so this slight drop in trip should suit and has obvious claims once again under a penalty.

Two runs so far of similar levels. Needs to do plenty more to be in the shake up here and probably one that will benefit from nurseries once they kick in.

Moohaajim colt who's price rose from €56,000 as a foal to £85,000 as a yearling. Half brother to decent performers Tabarrak, The Wagon Wheel and Dubai Acclaim. Dam was a winner as a two-year-old and stayed 1m. Interesting newcomer.

Son of French Fifteen that cost €40,000 as a yearling. Dam was a winner over 1m1f in France. Yard having a good season with their juveniles (7/43) and one to note in the market.

Oxbow colt, cost $215,000 as a yearling. Two starts so far have shown a similar level of ability. Would need to improve to be considered for win purposes today but that improvement is likely to come at some point.

Bated Breath colt that cost 85,000 gns as a yearling. Plenty of stamina on the dam side but this looks a good starting point. Yard have already had 20 juvenile winners this season and of interest on debut despite yard also having Sword Of Gold.

Has a pedigree that would suggest he wants further than this and his first two runs back that up. Likely to show significant improvement at some stage but they may come in handicaps over further.

Colt by Phoenix Reach. 9th foal, related to several winners of which Phoenix Dawn was the best of them. Dam placed at various trips from 6f-1m4f. Market a good guide to expectations on debut.

Daughter of Kodiac purchased for £58,000 at the breeze-up sales. Made a highly encouraging debut at Brighton (5½f, good to firm) when shaping like going up in trip would suit. Any improvement would make her a leading player in here.

Forecasts

Space Traveller (2/1), Rainbow Girl (9/4), Spirit Kingdom (10/3), Jabalaly (7/1), Monsieur Piquer (11/1), Sword Of Gold (25/1), Sir Ox (33/1), The Great Phoenix (50/1), Champagne Mondays (50/1)

Verdict

Jabalaly and Space traveller are both newcomers to note and are well worth a market check. Spirit Kingdom won well at Kempton last time and is very much respected once again here under a penalty. The selection though is RAINBOW GIRL who shaped with plenty of promise on debut and this step up in trip looks like it might be ideal.
  1. Rainbow Girl
  2. Spirit Kingdom
  3. Space Traveller
