Experienced campaigner who has won twice this year and was a fair fourth over C&D last time. Should be competitive off a 1lb lower mark.
Back to form when a close third of seven at Lingfield last month. Runs off the same mark and is likely to be thereabouts again.
Visored for the first time when second of eight over 6f at this venue on his latest outing. Up 2lb, but longer trip is not an issue and he is entitled to be on the premises with the headgear retained.
Veteran who has won 13 times, including over C&D last summer. Has not been at his best this year, which is understandable given his age, but he is not one to write off completely.
Scored over 1m on his seasonal reappearance at this venue before being well held off 1lb higher at Bath. Drop in trip a concern, but return to this venue should help his cause.
Winner of 10 races and probably needed his first run following a break when down the field at Bath last month. Has to step up on that and is not getting any younger.
All four runs, the latest in handicap company, have been on AW surfaces. Has not pulled up any trees so far, but it is early days for him and a bold show is not out of the question.
On a long, losing run, but is frequently placed and last month's run when returning from a break is best forgotten as he was hampered twice. Can go well off a viable handicap mark.
Followed up 1m win at Bath with a close second over the same C&D off 5lb higher. Up another 3lb and drops in trip, but is in good heart and worthy of respect.
First run for nine months when finishing in mid-division at Brighton last month. Each-way prospects off 2lb lower if he can build on that effort.
Not been seen since finishing down the field on the AW at Wolverhampton in February, May need this run to bring her back to concert pitch.
Forecasts
Wild Dancer (9/2), Shovel It On (9/2), Swot (5/1), Air Of York (6/1), Coachella (6/1), Tally's Son (8/1), Sopranos Rock (8/1), Barista (20/1), Corporal Maddox (20/1), Gypsy Rider (25/1), Smart Mover (33/1)
Air Of York, Wild Dancer and Shovel It On can all be given solid chances despite their big weights, while Sopranos Rock is probably better than he has shown so far and Swot should run his usual sound race. The vote, though, goes to COACHELLA, who is in good heart and may have enough pace to cope with this drop in trip. Gypsy Rider and Tally's Son are others to consider.
- Coachella
- Air Of York
- Wild Dancer
