Successful in first time cheekpieces at Kempton last October and placed over 1m2f subsequently. Return to this trip in his favour on seasonal debut.
Best effort this term came when finishing third over 1m at Newbury (good-to-firm) last time out. One for the shortlist racing off a 1lb lower mark.
Victorious over this trip at Thirsk (good-to-firm) on seasonal debut last month. Struggled off his revised mark since but not discounted completely.
Windsor maiden winner for Sir Michael Stoute in spring last year and ran a fair race when finishing 3L fourth on debut for this yard earlier this month. Worth a check in the market.
Struggled in three starts since winning over this trip at Kempton last October. Two most recent of those have come for this stable and he is probably best watched at present.
Nine race maiden but has placed in two of his six starts on turf. Well held on seasonal debut over 1m2f last time and this drop in trip should suit.
Winner of four races on the AW but 0/8 on turf and has finished well beaten on this surface the last twice. Others make more appeal.
Not beaten far when finishing fourth over 7f at Leicester (soft) on his second outing last year. Disappointed next time however and market support would be interesting on handicap and seasonal debut.
Winner of seven races but most recent success came over two years ago. Disappointing on turf this spring but well handicapped on his old form.
Finished a decent third over 1m at Newcastle in December. Out of form since returning this spring however and others hold stronger claims.
Placed over 6f in a novice contest at Chelmsford in January. Stepping up in distance having finished last of nine on handicap debut at Brighton (6f, good-to-firm) earlier this month.
Placed over an extended 1m at Wolverhampton in February. Drops in trip with a visor applied for the first time having finished well held in two 1m2f handicaps this spring.
Forecasts
Wind In My Sails (5/2), Desert Dream (9/2), Fleeting Freedom (6/1), Golden Guest (9/1), Glendun (9/1), Glorious Player (11/1), Whitkirk (12/1), Glacier Fox (14/1), Global Pass (20/1), Off Art (25/1), Woody Bay (33/1), Rock Warbler (66/1)
WIND IN MY SAILS ran well to finish third last time and he can record his first victory of the season in this opening contest. Trainer Ed De Giles can boast an 18% strike-rate (3/17) in recent times and his charge can get the better of Desert Dream who ran well on his debut for this yard at the start of the month. Glendun should appreciate the return to this distance and he can claim third on his first start of the season.
- Wind In My Sails
- Desert Dream
- Glendun
