First-time blinkers and a falling mark were major contributors to his last win at Kempton over 2m and has remained well treated. Lost out to a handicap debutant last time and looks sure to play a part here.

C&D winner who ran a lot better than of late last time out having slipped in the weights (still did plenty wrong; went in snatches) and looked very quirky. Cheekpieces are now employed for the first time; fine if in the right mood.

Wells De Lunet10

Won a hunter chase for a different yard at Ffos Las in February and brought back to hurdles since rejoining this team. Ran with credit last time out but never one to trust emphatically but could get involved if in the right mood.

Rather lost his way over hurdles last season looking well handicapped on some of his form but not really showing any signs of finding his way back. Has a more than capable pilot but hard to give a chance on recent evidence.

C&D winner who was pulled-up here last time having looked very flat and out of sorts despite being well supported in the market. Sliding below his last winning mark and trainer always respected here but does have to bounce back; risky proposition.

In much better form when completing a handicap hat-trick in 2017 and is 2lb below the last of those winning marks. His recent starts though have looked rather laboured and he was no matter for a recent break.

Hopes really rest of him recapturing his previous form when trained in Ireland but he's not really shown an awful lot since coming to this yard. Failed to come on for his reappearance run for the yard and best watched.

One of three runners in the race for this yard with this one being a C&D winner (novice hurdle) but his two recent efforts have been below-par. His most recent start was particularly poor and he's another to leave alone.

Yet to finish out of the frame in four hurdles starts for this yard he plugged on into 4th last time out at Ludlow under today's rider and off the same mark. Doesn't look overly progressive or well treated; place prospects at best.

Picked up two hurdles wins earlier in the year returning to form off a break on the first occasion; failed to complete his hat-trick when losing his action. Ran well on the Flat (latest) at Ripon off a low mark and dangerous back over hurdles.

Forecasts

Golden Jeffrey (11/4), Wells De Lune (9/2), Regulation (5/1), Apterix (7/1), Rockliffe (8/1), Dodgybingo (9/1), Ormskirk (14/1), Think Ahead (14/1), Prince Khurram (20/1), Iolani (20/1), Captain Brown (25/1)

Verdict

There are a few here that if they reproduce some recent Flat form returned to hurdles will look very well handicapped with Rockcliffe and Iolani two that are included in that category; both could be well supported and respected should a market move come for them. Golden Jeffrey is on a good mark if he’s on a going day and the same could be said for Wells De Lune. REGULATION ran a good sound race last time out though and has less question marks against him than most here and his mark based on his old form still looks very workable.
  1. Regulation
  2. Iolani
  3. Rockliffe
