Newcomer to handicaps having shown up brightly in his last two starts especially his most recent one over 7f (AW debut) when 33/1 (made good late headway from off the pace). Had the experience edge there but will be suited by this 1m trip/handicaps.

First two starts had looked positive and his third also showed something but he did look as though he was ridden with handicaps in mind. His pedigree suggests that he still has some potential; he'll be interesting over this 1m going into handicaps.

His AW form over the winter had suggested that he was unable to build on his debut and he was becoming disappointing. His turf/handicap debut did little to dispel that theory and he made little impression; one to treat with caution for now.

Kept busy since the start of this year he scored on his 5th handicap start under an attacking ride over 2f further than today. Not disgraced last time back on the AW and over today's trip; should go well off 3lb higher especially if allowed to lead.

Produced his best form yet when taking the runner-up slot last time and proving that he has trained on. More than likely to enjoy this stiffer test having only raced at 7f so far; now goes handicapping for the first time off a reasonable mark.

Looked a difficult ride at Brighton last time on his second handicap start (first run on turf) although he might not have handled the track with today's inexperienced rider on board. Tried over a few trips now and yet to find one to really suit.

Looked well suited by the Fibresand surface at Southwell (won there in January over 1m) and understandably easy to back on her return (turf/handicap debut). May well have needed that run (down 2lb) but needs to find more.

Will be far better suited by this more conventional track (failed to handle Newmarket last time) but does look as though she will be better on the AW. His mark looks a feasible one but this 1m may stretch him (finished last on previous try at trip).

Forecasts

Verdict

Some of these have a point to prove and it’s a race that lacks solid options although there are a couple with potential. Presumably Jim Crowley would have had the pick of the Hamdan Al Maktoum pair and interestingly he prefers Jurz over Tahreek with the latter having a promising race last time and the relationship in the market between those two is worth watching. Danzay has had more experience than most and still features off a workable mark and he would be dangerous with a soft lead. SKYDIVING has shown up well in his last two starts and whilst he’s not that leniently treated on his debut he has shown up well of late and is taken to make a successful handicap debut.
