The only four-year-old in the field she returns for her first run having had some wind surgery. Looked very much one for the longer term (and handicaps) when well held in a pair of maidens last year.

Just the one run so far but does have a decent pedigree and was supported at long odds on debut and shaped well from a poor position (walked out of stalls). Had little chance after that incident but travelled well will improve for the experience.

The only one of this group that has so far gained a rating (82) having run well in his last two starts and got very close to some useful rivals last time out over 1m. That rather blew his cover but he should progress and of interest here up in trip.

Very strong in the betting over 1m here on his debut he was undone by his inexperience (ran very green; missed break). He's from quite a smart family and should do far better than just the late progress that he managed on his initial start.

Knew what was required on his debut earlier in the year (7f, AW) when with Martyn Meade. That first run came in January and he wasn't seen again until May (now with Michael Bell) disappointing badly over 1m at Brighton (finished last).

Not totally unfancied on her debut in a Newbury novice she looked as though the experience was needed finishing well held in midfield (offered something to work on). Likely to know more this time around and take a step forward.

Offered little on her debut and only outing so far. Dwelt at the start and always behind showing little promise for the future. Others make far more appeal.

Forecasts

Mainsail Atlantic (5/6), Midnight Meeting (11/4), Gates Pass (9/2), Yayoon (12/1), Blizzard (25/1), Wasted Sunsets (100/1), Mystical Moon (100/1)

Verdict

One or two interesting sorts in this with a couple looking as though they will improve on their one run so far. Gates Pass and Midnight Meeting would both come into that category having needed their initial outings and that duo should come on for the experience gained in those starts. MAINSAIL ATLANTIC has shown the best pure form however running a couple of useful sorts close last time and probably gaining a higher mark than was planned but the potential he showed there can be put to good use in this. Blizzard is expected to show a little more than on her debut and it won’t be a surprise to see Yayoon bounce back to the sort of performance he showed on his initial run.
  1. Mainsail Atlantic
  2. Gates Pass
  3. Midnight Meeting
