Slowly coming to hand and is now 1lb lower than when winning this race 12 months ago. Improved effort when third here two weeks ago and a big player once again.

Blinkers seemed to bring about some improvement on return to action at Salisbury (6f, good to soft) last month when rearing in the stalls didn't help. Should come on for that run and is handicapped to go well again.

Generally been in good form this year until a poor effort on soft ground at Nottingham last time. Return to a better surface and to this track (ran well here two starts back) may help and cannot be discounted if returning to form.

Not been at her best of late mostly over longer trips than todays. Met traffic problems when well beaten at Bath latest and although she's 5lbs below her last winning mark others are preferred.

Had four runs for Robert Cowell as a juvenile before being gelded and sold for 10,000 guineas to his current yard. His two runs on quick ground have been poor and best watched at present.

Showed improved form for this headgear combination when just failing at Yarmouth (6f, good to firm) when the front two pulled well clear. Raised 5lbs for that and may have been flattered by how that race panned out.

Did really well to go so close having been drawn wide at Catterick last time. Awarded the race in the stewards room having been hampered. Only 1lb higher here and an obvious chance of being involved again.

No wins in 23 starts now and is down to a basement mark. Promise that there is still some ability there on recent comeback at Ayr having been off for 10 months. Capable if able to build on that on first start for new yard.

Beaten a long way on most recent starts and although he is a C&D winner that was some time ago. This trip on the sharp side these days and not hard to overlook from out the weights.

Improved effort here last time (5½f, good to firm) when getting going late and not beaten far. This extra half furlong could help but is out the weights here and hard to be confident.

Verdict

The penny seems to have dropped with Nifty Niece and having been awarded the race at Catterick last time she should go well from a better draw here. Harrison Stickle could be dangerous if getting on the front end from his wide draw in the blinkers and is respected. This can go to STRICTLY CARTER who won this race last year and is back down to a very tempting mark.
