Not the most straightforward to deal with the drop in grade giving him last win on Fibresand (claimer, 6f). Not disgraced returned to handicaps since with his mark dropping; not dangerous under hold-up tactics last time at Chester.
Back-to-back Fibresand winner earlier in the year (both wins off higher marks; 6f) but hasn't put anything like that together on turf since. Ran better than for a while last time out and becoming well treated if he can produce his AW form on turf.
Dropped in grade last time (claimer) but ran poorly (last of four) and yet to really show his best for this yard. Headgear and tongue-tie back on but doesn't look that well treated in handicaps these days and others appeal more.
Has slipped back to his last winning mark and the type who is always suited by a strong gallop. Below form last time though and excuses are starting to look hard to come by and others are preferred.
First run for this yard having previously been with Jose Santos with a losing run to his name that is starting to mount. Some 9lb below his last winning AW mark but yet to win on turf and best watched to see how he goes here.
Generally at her best around here and a four-time course winner (three over C&D); well supported when winning her penultimate start here (from a wide draw). Found life a little tougher off this mark last time; champion jockey back on board.
An AW winner earlier in the season proving himself over this trip but hasn't quite lived up to that form since (has tried further). Raced on the wrong side of the track at Yarmouth last time; no surprise if he bounced back.
Four-time C&D winner but finished last of nine at Musselburgh (rare poor effort) last time. Does need plenty of use made of him at this trip though and has a decent draw to be ridden that way here; slipping back towards a workable mark.
Ran poorly on turf last time and in all likelihood isn't as good on turf as he is on synthetics; both wins have come on the AW. Now tried in first-time cheekpieces (worn a visor last six starts and for both wins); best watched back on turf.
Forecasts
Make On Madam (11/4), Mujassam (10/3), Mywayistheonlyway (7/2), Relight My Fire (13/2), The British Lion (8/1), Freebe Rocks (12/1), Zylan (14/1), Tha'ir (16/1), Lord Cooper (50/1)
There are a few that can be given a chance here without necessarily being rock-solid propositions and Relight My Fire (winner of this in 2015) is one of them given the form he generally shows around here. Make On Madam will need to be tough to score off this mark but has the assistance of Silvestre De Sousa and is generally seen at her best around Beverley. A chance is taken that the dropped in grade ZYLAN is on his way back after he showed a little more last time over 6f (travelled better than most). Mujassam needs to put everything together and isn’t the easiest but he is off a decent mark if he does decide to play ball today.
