Record now reads 1-23 so it is hard to describe his mark as attractive following two tame efforts this term.

Awarded a Curragh handicap when last seen in 2015. It will be a great training performance to have him ready to win and he is probably best observed.

Has gone off the boil since her back to back successes in May. Reunited with last winning rider for an uncompetitive looking contest.

Does not appear to be progressing but a reproduction of his latest run might be good enough for this. Visor fitted and right man on board to overcome an unhelpful draw.

Won twice at Dundalk in Ireland this winter for previous connections but has shown little so far in this country and looks to face a tough task off his current mark.

Landed back to back races last autumn but has been a long way below those levels since and weighted accordingly.

Reached a higher standard than this in 14 runs for Mick Channon last year. Can be considered well-handicapped but only when proving she has trained on. Her three runs this term are yet to show she has.

Usually gives his best for this rider as was the case when winning a poor 6f Kempton race. Has faced some stiff tasks at the weights since, but he is more fairly treated this time and back to his optimum trip.

Had the door closed on him at Bath last time when shaping better than in his six previous starts following his last success in December. Could cause a surprise if building on that.

Consistent mare who looks set to be in the front line once again. Her latest form entitles to go close in a race which is no stronger than her recent races.

Now 1-31 and switch to sprinting saw his lack of pace exposed two weeks ago. Hard to fancy despite good claimer in the saddle.

Forecasts

Jaalboot (3/1), Monarch Maid (4/1), Storm Melody (5/1), Mooroverthebridge (5/1), Dalness Express (11/2), Dodgy Bob (8/1), Oliveraie (14/1), Aquadabra (20/1), Rising Sunshine (40/1), Compton Prince (40/1), Chicago School (66/1)

Verdict

Pretty mediocre stuff to close the card and any one of these could land it on a going day. Admittedly, for most, that is a rare occurrence but DALNESS EXPRESS and Monarch Maid have proved more consistent than most of late. The latter is a front-runner who should give the selection a nice tow into the race. Trainer John O'Shea has secured Luke Morris, who won on him earlier in the year, and drops back to his optimum trip of 6f. In a race with few evident positives he looks the most likely winner.
  1. Dalness Express
  2. Monarch Maid
  3. Compton Prince
