Previous AW winner over this trip, though that was on the Tapeta. This mark leaves him with a bit of improvement to find.
Has lost his form over his last couple of starts, but has a good record here and dropping back down to this trip may also help.
Slight step back in the right direction at York last time out (in a tougher race), down another 2lb. Interesting to see how he fares on this AW debut.
Both wins this year came over further than this off lower marks, so though he brings some better recent form than many of his rivals he still makes only limited appeal.
Seasonal/AW debut but good form over this trip last year and if ready to go here he looks set for a big run.
Ran better than the form figure suggests at Chester last time out, but has a bit to prove on the AW with all his best form on turf.
Yet to run a poor race since starting off in handicaps, and looks capable of defying this mark based on his performance at Kempton back in September. First run since now.
Seasonal/stable debut, lost his form towards the end of last season and therefore tough to build a case for on first run since October.
Finished a good second on handicap debut at Lingfield last time out, up 3lb but every chance that this step up in trip can help him find further improvement.
C&D winner at his best and won just three starts ago, but much less impressive the last twice. Others appeal much more.
Far from his finest hour at Doncaster last time out and has changed trainers since. Has stamina to prove in first-time blinkers.
Forecasts
Nathan (9/4), Alfarris (7/2), Top Mission (4/1), Master Singer (5/1), Rainbow Rebel (12/1), Master Carpenter (14/1), Tangramm (14/1), Al Destoor (25/1), Noble Gift (25/1), Star of Rory (50/1), Lost At Sea (50/1)
Provided he's ready to go on his first outing since September, ALFARRIS looks set to run his usual excellent race here. He has been seen to good effect since switching to handicap company, and has scope to win more races off his current mark (trip and track should also suit). He is taken to get the better of Top Mission and another gelding having his first run of the year in Nathan.
