Beaten just 2½L when finishing third to Gunmental over C&D last month (good to firm), and also placed on his sole other run at Thirsk in July 2017. Much respected dropping down into a Class 4 handicap.
Stablemate of Adam's Ale. Out of sorts when last in action on the AW during the winter months, but lines up fresh from a break from a falling mark.
Back to form with a win at Pontefract over 5f (good) last time. All of his wins have come over the minimum trip and although he could see this out, defying a 5lb higher mark will be a challenge.
Recorded a second win when scoring by 1L (5/2f) in a 6f handicap at Haydock last week; not harshly treated with a 5lb rise in the weights, yet still requires a career best performance in order to score again.
Won three times over C&D on decent ground in 2017, including when taking this race by a neck from Highland Acclaim. On the premises (caught close home) here off this mark last week; well drawn.
Hit a purple patch in July/August 2017, winning three races between 5f and 6f, but climbed the weights as a result and has kicked off the current campaign in more moderate form.
Not won since January 2017 (6f Wolverhampton), so the percentage call is to oppose. However, on the plus side he's well treated off a mark of 74, and is 1 from 1 at Thirsk (5f Nursery back in 2013).
Ready 2L winner over 6f at Salisbury last week and lines up today without a penalty for that success (Apprentices Handicap). Evidently goes well for Poppy Bridgwater and has a fairly solid chance from a good draw in stall ten.
Speedy sort who won back-to-back races as a juvenile in mid to late 2017, but has performed poorly in handicap company since, eased when beaten over 7f at Kempton on his seasonal reappearance.
C&D winner in July 2017 (good to soft), and runner up at this track on her next juvenile start just a week later (5f). Much less pleasing since, so needs to be wholly revitalised by the return to this track.

Breaking Records (5/2), Madrinho (11/4), The Armed Man (9/2), King Robert (6/1), Henley (14/1), Silver Starlight (14/1), Adam's Ale (14/1), Rockies Spirit (14/1), Muatadel (16/1), Top Boy (16/1), Zanetto (20/1), Canford's Joy (33/1), Fast Track (33/1), Barracuda Boy (40/1)
A race which features a plethora of horses with past C&D winning form, so in theory we could see a surprise result with a number of those Thirsk specialists out of form at other tracks. That said; the 2017 winner The Armed Man is in decent form at present and should be on the premises from a handy draw in stall 14 given his prominent style of racing, whilst the last time out winners Madrinho (unpenalised) and Breaking Records also merit serious consideration. However, we'll take a chance on the top-weight KING ROBERT; he's run well twice at this track in the past, has a decent draw (13), and drops into a Class 4 handicap for the first time ever.
- King Robert
- Madrinho
- The Armed Man
