Last two efforts in novice/maiden company showed plenty of promise. Makes handicap debut off an opening mark of 83 and should be capable of going very well.

Denied a hat-trick on handicap debut at Nottingham last time out but still not totally disgraced and goes off the same mark here.

Showed ability when securing a double in novice company last time out, but yet to show much in handicap company and more needed here down just 1lb.

Has had more handicap experience than the rest of these but ran a fine race when third at Goodwood last time out and finishing just behind Daybreak. Not ruled out off the same mark.

Only second run for this yard and most of his racing has come in France so far. Best watched after a low-key British debut last time out.

4lb higher than the only mark he's won off so far, though the step up to this trip didn't seem to make a massive difference at Chelmsford last time out. One to consider on this return to turf.

Ran a fine race on handicap debut at Goodwood last time out when stepping up to this trip for the first time. Up just 1lb and everything looks set for another big run.

Showed signs of inexperience in her earlier starts and steps up to 1m for the first time for handicap debut. This could prove to be a very lenient opening mark and she holds leading claims.

Two of her three starts so far have seen her show a good level of form, and this would be a very workable mark based on the form of her fine second at Chepstow last time out.

Forecasts

Preening (6/4), Autumn Leaves (9/2), Daybreak (6/1), Golden Iris (7/1), Affina (12/1), Zoraya (14/1), Caiya (14/1), No More Thrills (16/1), Collate (33/1)

Verdict

A number of these are either having their handicap debut or are inexperienced in this sphere, meaning it's difficult to get a handle on how suitable their marks are. However AUTUMN LEAVES ran very well on all three starts in novice company, and this step up in trip is unlikely to be an issue; an opening mark of 78 could underrate her. She is taken to see off recent Goodwood second Daybreak, and fellow handicap debutante Golden Iris.
  1. Autumn Leaves
  2. Daybreak
  3. Golden Iris
