Well backed fav on first start for this yard when finishing second at Chepstow (1m4f, soft) last month. Step up in trip looks a good move and conditions are no problem. Key player once more.

An eight race Flat maiden for Ralph Beckett, she was sold for £21,000 in September. Well beaten on first start on the flat for this yard three weeks ago behind a handicap good thing that has won again since. Should come on for that but needs too.

The lofty heights of the North American Grade 2 he contested last August are long gone. Beaten a very long way on first turf start in Britain at Doncaster (2m½f, soft) six weeks ago. Possible that this better ground will suit and mark is slipping.

All five career wins have come on the All Weather and is 0/19 on turf which is largely off-putting. Likely to find a couple too good.

Won two races on the Flat and two more over hurdles but nothing since October 2016 and loks unlikely to capitalise on falling handicap rating

Fairly reliable animal that is now 4lbs lower than his last winning mark. Got considerably closer to Northwest Frontier at Ripon last time that Really Super managed at Nottingham. Winner over C&D and a player for sure.

Made all to win comfortably her over 1m6f (good) three weeks ago. Step up in trip promises to suit and may well get a soft time of things on the front end here so very much respected.

First run for six months when trailing in some 7L behind The Secrets Out here last time. 7lb pull in the weights unlikely to change the outcome here and has work to do.

Forecasts

Astute Boy (6/4), Chivers (11/4), Fitzwilly (10/3), The Secrets Out (5/1), Lake Shore Drive (13/2), King Calypso (9/1), Really Super (12/1), Galileo's Spear (14/1), Danglydontask (16/1), Fool To Cry (33/1)

Verdict

ASTUTE BOY made a very pleasing start for Harry Fry at Chepstow and he can get back to winning ways now going up in trip. The Secrets Out won't be an easy nut to crack and he will be difficult to pass if he gets a soft lead. Fitzwilly ran well behind a handicap good thing last time and is a danger to all.
