Runner-up in last season's listed Two-Year-Old Trophy at Redcar and scored over 7f in soft ground at Chepstow last time. Never out of the first three in five starts and should be involved once again.
Oasis Dream gelding who has disappointed on both starts to date and looks up against it once again. May do better once he goes handicapping.
Debut for this Rip Van Winkle who is a half-brother to Group 3-winning sprinter Caledonia Lady. Yard adept with sprinters so well worth monitoring for any market move on racecourse bwo.
Went close at Goodwood as a juvenile and got no sort of a run last time out at HQ but remains a maiden after seven starts and has been a little frustrating. Has claims though and may not be far away in first-time blinkers.
Sakhee's Secret gelding out of 6f winner. Hinted at a little ability on second start (in France) but ran poorly on AW latest and doesn't look good enough on that evidence.
Dutch Art filly who made a pleasing debut when fourth here over 5f last month, keeping on steadily in the closing stages. Entitled to be wiser for that outing and rates among the leading contenders this time.
Showed promise last term on debut when third in Ascot novice event but ran badly at Bath only other starts. Too early to write her off but needs to get back on the straight and narrow. Better ground may help.
Looks type to keep an eye on in a handicap as showed definite signs of some ability on second start at Salisbury last month. May be better over an extra furlong.
Orpen half-sister to five winners so has prospects on paper. Yard fairly quiet so far this term but worth a market check for any interest on racecourse bow.
Acclamation filly out of dam from family of Group 1 wnner Pipalong. Did well on debut at Salisbury last month, picking up nicely from the rear in the closing stages and promising better to come. Has to be on the short list.
Poet's Voice filly whose dam placed in listed company over 5f as a juvenile. Yard's few runners of late have run respectably without winning. Others are preferred.
Dutch Art filly who showed some ability on debut at Salisbury recently recovering from a slow start to stay on into mid-division. Should know more about the game now and another step forward is not out of the question.
Forecasts
Flying Sparkle (6/4), Rebel Streak (11/4), Rose Hip (4/1), Sparkalex (12/1), Dutch Stranger (16/1), Akbar Shah (20/1), Caledonia Earl (20/1), Star Girl (33/1), Fashion Sense (40/1), Zouch (50/1), Mostly Green (50/1), Penwood (66/1)
The fillies look to have the stronger claims here with the decent Flying Sparkle setting a good standard. She won't be far away but there was a lot to like about the debut effort of ROSE HIP at Salisbury and she can step up and score on this second start of her career. Also respected is Dutch Stranger who has a similar profile. Rebel Streak cannot be ruled out although he's been frustrating, while any move for Mostly Green would be of interest.
- Rose Hip
- Flying Sparkle
- Dutch Stranger
