Dark Angel gelding, scored on debut at Doncaster over 6f last spring and respectable third of eight in handicap at Newmarket (7f, good to firm) three weeks ago, should be there or thereabouts.
Yorgunnabelucky gelding. Half-brother to several winners, including useful 6f-1m winner California Laws. Not the most obvious winner on debut.
Acclamation colt who cost €98,000 as a foal and was sold for £145,000 as a yearling. Returned from a lengthy absence when tiring late on just his second start before big improvement for a breakthrough success. Plenty more to come.
Lethal force colt who cost €120,000 as a foal and whose dam is a half-sister to Group 3 winner Rimth. Scored on second start at Kempton (6f, AW) last year, having been allowed to dictate. Returns for seasonal bow.
There was promise in his debut despite being green he appeared to learn through the race at Kempton (7f,AW) and duly built on that when returned to the same C&D in December (had run of race; still looked green). Wind surgery since, improver.
Finished last in a 6f AW novice contest at Kempton on debut last October and was gelded over the winter. Better effort over this trip at Nottingham (good to form) on last month's return around 11L third of 12. Good chance he'll build on that run.
Society Rock filly issued with pair of heavy defeat at Yarmouth (1m, good to soft) and Chelmsford (7f, AW) either side of winter break. Can only be watched for now.
Just the two runs so far, hooded on debut for this trainer at Brighton (5½f, good to firm) and produced better effort in finishinf third. Longer trip won't hurt and should be sharper this time.
Hopelessly outclass in two sprints at Bath in the spring. Wouldn't like to be suggesting a major turnaround now. Others readily preferred.
Forecasts
Desert Frost (7/4), Embour (2/1), Tashaaboh (9/2), La Maquina (5/1), Hedonism (16/1), Master Poet (33/1), Oneovdem (100/1), Ticktocks (100/1), Fata Morgana (100/1)
LA MAQUINA improved in two starts last year despite clear signs of his inexperience. The Dutch Art colt has undergone a wind operation since and might be up taking advantage of the weight he is receiving some fancied rivals here. Embour looks certain to get better following a maiden win at Salisbury while Tashaaboh and Desert Frost won't have any problem going across the winning line if given a chance.
- La Maquina
- Embour
- Desert Frost
