Gutsy front-runner who goes well for this amateur. Aims for a thirteenth career success but has a big task under this weight.
Unbeaten in two hunter chases in 2017. The yard were going through a quiet spell when well-beaten on both starts this spring, but that still does not fully explain how quickly he folded.
Winner at Sedgefield but given his current inconsistency it was no surprise to see him flop next time. Has a stiff task on these terms.
Has form against some useful yardsticks and looks nicely weighted having beaten the 131-rated Port Melon two starts ago. Makes plenty of appeal with a top amateur booked.
Back to form in a low grade affair at Fontwell when his mind did not seem entirely focussed. Needs to concentrate fully with Creevytennant likely to set a serious pace.
Beat Sam Cavallaro in this 12 months ago but now 7lb higher in what looks a stronger race this time.
Closely matched with Curraigflemens on their clash in this last year, but this is a stronger renewal and others are preferred.
Came from a long way back to finish amongst some useful hunter chasers at Cheltenham last month. Handicapper has revised his mark despite the run appearing to flatter him.
Not doing anything quickly at present and well behind Monsieur Gibraltar on latest starts. Has a mountain to climb to get close to the main players here in first-time cheekpieces.
Out of his depth last time and faces another tough test from 22lb out of the handicap. Looks easy to oppose.
Pulled up in two of his last three and tailed off behind Mantou in the other. Hard to recommend as a result.
Forecasts
Crazy Jack (3/1), Royalraise (7/2), Forever My Friend (4/1), Curraigflemens (6/1), Creevytennant (15/2), Sam Cavallaro (10/1), Persian Snow (16/1), Mantou (22/1), Damiens Dilemma (25/1), Swallowshide (66/1), Curragh Hall (100/1)
Creevytennant will take many of these out of their comfort zones with his front-running tactics. Forever My Friend is not easy to catch right these days but did score last time and handily weighted if he can be cajoled to give his best again. ROYALRAISE looks more likely to live with the leader and he looks attractively weighted for the return to handicap company having beaten the useful Port Melon on his penultimate start.
- Royalraise
- Creevytennant
- Forever My Friend
