Best suited by 1m his two attempts beyond that trip have been poor and he's certainly lacked spark in his runs this year. He was poorly drawn last time though and runs off a mark 6lb below his last winning one; drops in grade here.
Got back on the up for this yard via the AW when producing a shock win in February off 4lb lower. Has run well since on the bulk of his outings but his recent return to turf appears to have stalled his resurgence; hard to give him a solid chance.
Has been a fair handicapper in the past but returns from a long absence and looks likely to need the outing. His best effort when last seen came here at Carlisle but usually seen over further; best watched.
Doesn't have as many miles on the clock as some of these in handicaps and struck on his second start in that sphere last year. Only seen on four occasions since he's still quite well treated and may be one to watch in the market.
His last two starts have offered some promise and he's hovering around his last winning mark. Lot to like about his penultimate run on the AW before he ran with credit from out of the handicap last time; will appreciate this ease in grade.
His last two runs came on back-to-back days at Ayr and despite running creditably each time he didn't look particularly enthusiastic on each occasion (raced lazily). Has looked less than straightforward in the past and one to take care with.

Formerly quite a useful sort but has plummeted in the weights of late but took a step back in the right direction last time. That run came on quick ground over 1m at Ayr and whilst he's not sure to build on it he has won here twice before.
Not the most genuine of animals you can tell that by the ungainly head carriage. His last two runs back from a break have highlighted that problem and despite a falling mark a 1/35 record makes him an unappealing play.
Still a maiden after 15 attempts despite flattering on a couple of occasions the downs outweigh the ups in his overall profile. Makes his seasonal reappearance here having been well below-par when last seen.
Only has one decent effort to his name with the rest of his form modest to say the least. Failed to settle last time out on the AW and hard to find much to recommend him even in this modest company; tongue-tie on for first time.
Poor maiden who has run over a variety of distances on the Flat the last twice off basement marks in handicaps. Not seen in this sphere since last year (has run over hurdles in the mean time); others make more appeal.
Has managed to finish second in a handicap but it was very poor form and her last few runs have contained very little encouragement at all. Cheekpieces reapplied but they hardly brought about improvement before.

One or two that can be given a chance in this but rather like the first division it’s hard to find too many that would have you rushing to support them. JOHN CAESAR appeals more than most given his recent form and the fact that he will appreciate the easier company. Chiswick Bey isn’t certain to build on his good run last time out but he is a dual course winner who has slipped to a decent mark while Mr C is one to watch in the betting having shown some ability in handicaps last year. Mr Cool Cash would have been better served returning to Beverley (goes well there) but he’s another eased in grade who if he finds some spark could be dangerous off this mark.
- John Caesar
- Mr C
- Chiswick Bey
