Usually goes well here but has been below par on both visits this season. Has done better at Chester on his last two starts and now returning here in a slightly weaker race and from 2lb below his last winning mark, he can go well.

Beverley specialist who tends to come good at this time of year and last won at York (1m4f, good) in July, when on this mark. Has again shown his best form this season at Beverley, but has run well here before now. Each-way claims.

Scored here in a 1m maiden (good) in July when with John Gosden. Has twice gone close from 2lb lower in handicaps since then. Didn't appear to stay 1m4f at York last time, but unexposed over this trip and not ruled out if he can bounce back.

Scored from this mark in Ireland last year (1m1½f, good) and came on for his debut for this trainer when wining on his second start for the stable at Ayr (1m2f, good to firm) last time. 4lb rise for that and in a better race today, but respected.

C&D winner (good) on his second start for William Haggas last year. Below par in two starts since joining this trainer, but most of last year's form would give him a good chance from this 4lb lower mark. Cheekpieces swapped for visor. Interesting.

1-24, that win being way back in 2015, but threatened to end the drought when a neck second at Haydock (1m2½f, soft) on his reappearance/stable debut in April. 3lb rise for that won't help, but not written off.

Verdict

Another contest where there are several angles for punters and it could be worth chancing DAAWY, who won over C&D last year on good ground and has dropped to a handy mark based on much of last year's form. Hopefully, different headgear today can help his cause. Mulligatawny is feared at a track that he enjoys, while Jacbequick and Mikmak can't be ruled out. Remember The Days will need to raise his game, but that is also a possibility, while Mooltazem is another course winner who is of interest back over this trip.
