5-46 record with the most recent success coming at Chelmsford in December. Can be tricky at the start and prone to missing the break, but there is enough early pace in this that the race could collapse in front of him.
Back to a more workable mark, but he has been allowed to dominate from the front to earn his last two successes and that seems unlikely here.
Nine-race maiden who was initially handicapped on a flattering piece of form in a four-runner race. Mark is not coming down fast enough and wind surgery needs to have a dramatic effect.
Finished 3L behind Krystallite here in January and now 3lb worse off following two subsequent victories. Probably needs a more testing 5f than this and a drop in the weights.
Arrives on a 1lb lower mark and off a similar break to when scoring here under this rider over C&D a year ago. Market should be a good guide to expectations.
Winner at Chelmsford in January, but has not been quite at that level since. Handicapper has cut him some slack, however, so it would be no surprise to see him get involved.
Took this 12 months ago off 8lb higher. Retuned last week from a short break going off hard and having been 8L clear at the 2f pole. Obvious contender although she may face some competition up front.
Can be excused his last two runs but earns consideration on last month's Newcastle run. The promise of a strong gallop aids his cause and he has each-way possibilities.
18-race maiden makes stable debut after a four year absence and from out of the handicap. Impossible to recommend.
Forecasts
Krystallite (7/2), Absolutely Awesome (4/1), Fareeq (5/1), Red Stripes (11/2), Entertaining Ben (7/1), Gloriux (8/1), Monsieur Mel (12/1), Bahamian Heights (16/1), Baltic Gin (200/1)
This should be fast and furious which may help Bahamian Heights and Monsieur Mel to pick off rivals if and when the pace collapses up front. ABSOLUTELY AWESOME won a similarly run race over C&D a year ago with a similar preparation to today and off a lower mark he gets the vote ahead of the likely pacemakers Krystallite, who attempts to win this for the second year running, and Entertaining Ben.
- Absolutely Awesome
- Krystallite
- Entertaining Ben
