Still a maiden after four starts but a high class one and a winner waiting to happen. Progressed with a third on handicap debut in a strong handicap behind the subsequent Irish 2000 Guineas fifth placed Symbolization. Plenty more to come.

Hard to weigh up his maiden success on just his fourth start as it looked a weak contest but he won with plenty in hand and physically has an awful lot of progress to come. Others preferred on a different surface but worth a check in the market.

Broke through on a quicker surface on his last and only third start last year. Travelled well and although didn't find late on still made a decent reappearance. Worth a try at this trip and looks as though he needs quick ground.

Won on the AW over this distance at the end of last season before being highly tried in two starts this season over further. Reportedly wants this ground and the drop back in trip is a positive. Blinkers on and stable won this in 2013 & 2014.

Took a major step forwards when winning on handicap and seasonal reappearance. Idled late on so 5lb rise doesn't look a problem but this is tougher. He's considered a long term prospect and won't race many times this season.

Best form so far and sole win has come with give in the ground and doesn't look particularly well handicapped after a beaten favourite off this mark at end of last season. Probably best watched on reappearance with stable struggling for winners.

Seven race maiden who showed promise on reappearance but was never going well and disappointed badly last time. Stable not in the best of form and needs to take a massive step forwards to feature.

Verdict

Sam Gold is with a trainer who likes to take his time with such talented performers and he'll be breaking through sooner rather than later. INSURGENCE just continues to improve with every run and is such a likeable performer. The mile should now suit and perhaps better ground back on turf will also bring improvement. Glencadam Master is down in grade and gets more suitable ground for a stable with a strong record in this race. Moxy Mares is one to note with physically the most progress to come.
