C&D winner in 2016. Very consistent sort but as a result, not well-handicapped in any fashion. Won't mind conditions and gets Moore in the saddle so not without each-way claims.
Listed winner at Pontefract last year. Didn't show his best form out at Meydan this winter but ran well when placed over C&D last time and has each-way claims again from the same handicap mark.
In good form and consistent on the Flat in recent times and produced another solid effort in a competitive York handicap last time. Starting to rise in the weights without winning at the moment though and looks a little vulnerable here.
Bidding for a four-timer here, with two of his three wins coming over C&D. Handicapper seemingly finding hard to get hold of him and less exposed than most of his rivals. Leading claims again.
Gained a first win since 2015 in this race last year and he's back on that handicap mark now. Not the most consistent but won't mind the ground here and ran well at Chester last time. Hard to put a line through.
C&D winner at the start of last year and went on to win a valuable handicap at Newbury towards the end of the season before a fine effort in the Cambridgeshire. May come on for his most recent run and not ruled out here.
Only won once in 10 starts on turf but that did come here over 1m½f. Has won on AW since but out of form on both turf starts this year and others arrive with stronger claims.
Has been in fine form on the AW this winter, though turf form prior to that not quite as consistent. Testing conditions are another unknown and has never run over quite this far. Others preferred.
Gained a first win since 2015 at Newmarket last year but that wasn't particularly competitive with just five runners and not won since. Won't mind the soft ground but disappointed at Windsor last time and hard to fancy in a race this competitive.
Won a maiden at Chester but that's his sole win in 13 starts and disappointed as favourite at Chester last time. Hung left that day and wouldn't want to do that here but in good hands at least and gets the Champion Jockey for assistance.
Has been in good form since joining this yard and won twice at Kempton over the winter. Doesn't always looks the easiest from the stalls, as seen at Newmarket last time and ground may have gone against him here but less exposed than most.
Forecasts
Ajman King (5/4), Not So Sleepy (8/1), Banditry (8/1), Brorocco (10/1), Another Touch (10/1), Dark Red (11/1), Never Surrender (14/1), Zzoro (16/1), Native Fighter (20/1), Emenem (25/1), Maratha (33/1)
Not So Sleepy won this race last year and returns on the same handicap mark but preference is for AJMAN KING who arrives here bidding for his fourth straight success. The handicapper has only been able to put him up 5lb given the narrow margin of his latest success and there's a suspicion the two time course and distance winner is still well-handicapped here. Brorocco was in good form towards the end of last season and has a course and distance win to his name as does Dark Red who gets Ryan Moore for assistance.
- Ajman King
- Brorocco
- Dark Red
