Just the one promising effort from three outings in maidens, goes up in trip for handicap bow and worth a market check.

Nathaniel filly was off colour and failed to beat a rival home last time at Brighton. Yard in decent form, should be capable of better but unlikely winner on that evidence.

Finished good third of 11 in handicap at Chepstow (1m2f, firm) 17 days ago. Will benefit from a better run race and entitled to get involved.

Closely matched with Maid Up on their recent Chepstow meeting, both are expected to lay down a challenge for this.

Lightly-raced maiden, no improvement last time at Wolverhampton for fitting of a hood (retained) but may be capable of showing more now sent handicapping.

Thrice-raced maiden, finished fifth of 17 at Nottingham (1m½f, good to firm) 21 days ago. Up in trip for handicap debut. Needs to improve.

Narrow second at Chepstow (1m2f, good to firm) last time out, holding Maid Up and Mail Order behind. Should give another strong account.

In good form on the AW since joining this trainer in four runs, though must now show he can transfer it across to turf (0-3 so far).

Lightly-raced maiden, well held at Beverly last time over 7½f on good to firm, having left in tough position from which to get in the race. 1lb wrong on these terms.

Unpromising efforts thus far in trio of maidens and looks best watched ahead of this handicap debut, lest the market says different.

Forecasts

Maid Up (5/2), Fresh Terms (11/4), Giving Glances (5/1), Show Of Force (6/1), Iconic Code (12/1), Girls Talk (16/1), Cherubic (16/1), Destinys Rock (16/1), Mail Order (20/1), Colourfield (20/1), Alacritas (25/1), Navajo Squaw (33/1)

Verdict

Any money behind Fresh Terms on this switch into handicapping would be noteworthy but MAID UP should have sound claims here after a good start in handicaps at Chepstow recently. She came with a late run there and can go well now if produced earlier. She's closely matched with Giving Glances and Show Of Force on that run and all three should go well again.
