Two wins from four starts last term and was only beaten narrowly on handicap debut on final start over 7f at Newmarket. Returns from a nine month break and goes up in trip for tapeta debut.
Fair efforts in three runs so far over 6/7f. Up in trip for handicap debut and likely there is more to come despite this opening mark not being overly generous.
Has improved steadily with each start and notched his first win in a novice event at Chepstow (1m, good to firm) last time. Good chance he can improve once more and is very much respected.
Improved effort over C&D on third start. This looks a fair mark for handicap debut and should have some improvement in the locker in this sphere.
Fair efforts in three runs last year. Looked in need of the outing on handicap debut at Goodwood (1m1f, good to firm) last week. Should come on for that run and excellent claimer takes off a handy 5lbs. Every chance of more to come.
Won a maiden at Lingfield (1m, AW) two starts back before a fair effort on handicap debut when rider lost the whip when challenging for the lead. Every chance of another good showing off the same mark.
Needs to bounce back after a couple of below par efforts the last twice. Both of those runs came on soft ground on turf and you can make a fair case he should be better suited to this surface. Cheekpieces go on first time for handicap debut.
Ran well here two starts back (7f) when shaping like this trip would suit. Didn't seem totally at home on the undulations at Epsom last time and is a real interest back here with this trip likely to suit.
Best effort of three on reappearance at Lingfield (7f, AW) last month. Up in trip for handicap debut and hope that there should be more to come.
Four starts last year when trained by Brian Smart. Starts life for new yard off a realistic mark and goes up inntrip for handicap debut. Improvement likely.
Some promise in novice company last season and return to action over 7f at Kempton was almost certainly needed. Outpaced when dropped to 6f last time and needs this step up in trip to bring about improvement on tapeta debut.

Epaulement (7/2), Faadhel (7/2), Maypole (9/2), Soldiers Bay (11/2), Affina (11/1), Angelina D'or (14/1), Antagonist (16/1), Pheidippides (18/1), Assimile (18/1), Spray The Sea (25/1), Bin Daahir (28/1), The Great Dandini (33/1)
A really nice and competitive looking three-year-old handicap in which you can make a case for plenty. Top weight Affina should have more to offer this year now handicapping and is respected. Maypole won well at Chepstow two weeks ago and is a player once again. Market moves for either Bin Daahir or Antagonist would be significant as they both have potential to be better than their current marks. The selection though is FAADHEL who shaped with distinct promise here over shorter before not handling the undulations of Epsom last time.
- Faadhel
- Affina
- Maypole
