Makes a quick return before his new handicap rating kicks in which will place him 2lb higher than this. Beat little when making all to land a gamble last week and his rivals here are of a similarly modest standard.
C&D winner in 2011 but all his Flat wins since have come at around 2m. Stable have a record of one win and three places from four runners in this race, but still hard to believe he can figure given recent efforts.
Contested a couple of hot maidens for Alan King, but he offered little encouragement on stable debut in an uncompetitive event.
Winner of five races in France but the last of those came in 2014. Placed twice off this mark last term and he will be better for his come back run. Each-way claims.
Brighton winner in 2016 but has offered little since on the Flat and over hurdles. Significant jockey booking on stable debut in a bad race so worth a check in the market.
Form of her Wolverhampton third last year is solid and she has had excuses in both starts since which have come after layoffs. Shaped well enough a week ago to be considered a threat despite a small rise in the weights.
Former John Gosden winner who has lost his way. Has finished last on his two most recent outings and he cannot be fancied.
Stable are going well but it remains difficult to see this one adding to their tally despite another fall in the weights.
AW winner in January but also has three turf wins to his credit. Good run last time in cheekpieces, but at his best when allowed to dictate from the front and questionable if Jackblack will allow that.
0-12 and no match for an easy winner last week. Nevertheless that was her second run back from a layoff and she may still have something to offer in a race as weak as this.
23-race maiden who usually reserves his best for Lingfield, but he was poor here last week when well behind Jackblack.
Closely matched with General Brook on Kempton form. However, he remains a maiden after 28 attempts and place money may be the best he can hope for.
Forecasts
Jackblack (11/8), Penny Poet (3/1), All About The Pace (8/1), Miskin (9/1), Too Many Shots (12/1), Guards Chapel (16/1), Magic Beans (20/1), General Brook (25/1), Hong Kong Joe (33/1), Onehelluvatouch (33/1), Moans Cross (40/1), Epsom Day (50/1)
JACKBLACK scored with plenty of authority in similar company last week and looks likely to follow up given he is 2lb "well-in" on today's terms. Penny Poet has gone up another couple of pounds for an encouraging return, whilst All About The Pace, General Brook and Hong Kong Joe all ran well enough last time to stake claims for place money in an uncompetitive event.
- Jackblack
- Penny Poet
- All About The Pace
