Winner of two of his four starts to date including in a maiden hurdle at Perth (2m4f, good) last time out. Impressed on that occasion and is likely to run well once more.

8/1
Point-to-point winner a year ago and broke his maiden at the second attempt over hurdles when winning over 2m7f at Bangor (good-to-soft) last month. Interesting runner int his contest.
Failed to figure in three starts over hurdles so far including here on his penultimate outing and is probably best watched at present.

Improved on sole bumper start when finishing 14L third of seven at Uttoxeter (2m4f, heavy) on his first outing in 12 months in March. Interesting to see how he fares with better ground forecast for this.
Bumper winner at Market Rasen (good) in spring last year and placed in that sphere since. Beaten 7L into second on hurdling debut at Huntingdon (good) recently and one to note in this contest.

50/1
Successful four times on the AW but held over fourth of five on her latest outing in that sphere at Wolverhampton two weeks ago. Making her hurdles debut in this.

Forecasts

Champ (1/3), Myplaceatmidnight (4/1), Merry Milan (8/1), Iron Horse (20/1), Lady Makfi (50/1), Sehayli (66/1), General Picton (80/1)

Verdict

Trainer Nicky Henderson can boast a 33% strike-rate (9/27) in recent weeks and his CHAMP looks to have been found a decent opportunity to complete a double having won at Perth recently. The selection should appreciate the extra furlong here and can get the better of Myplaceatmidnight who ran well to finish runner-up on hurdling debut while the penalised Merry Milan looks capable of finishing third dropping in trip.
  1. Champ
  2. Myplaceatmidnight
  3. Merry Milan
