Her first run for her new yard saw her post her best performance yet (only lightly-raced) and she was pretty tenderly handled in that novice event (6f). Now makes her handicap debut and does look capable of more.

Won her first two starts (a maiden and a handicap) over 5f and 6f respectively taking advantage of a lenient opening mark. Only seen twice since then with her most recent over 5f leaving the impressions she will be suited by this trip more.

Twice a winner here last year over 5f her form at this trip doesn't read as well and she's yet to win over it. There was hope that she could do though when looking a little unfortunate not to finish closer at Doncaster last time off this mark.

In good form at the start of the year winning three times on the AW but has yet to win on turf (0/11). Did run well here last time (back in headgear) when taking the runner-up slot; runs off the same mark now.

Dual C&D winner last May and now just 1lb above her last winning mark although she's not really looked at her best since returning from a long absence. Kept on over 5f on deep ground last time and now given her first try at 6f this year.

Scored twice last year taking a maiden before scoring on her handicap debut over 6f; never quite clicked after that but was still competitive. Appears to be working her way back to her best now after wind surgery and quite nicely weighted now.

Has a good strike-rate overall (11/78) with the majority of those wins coming on the AW but she is capable on turf. Not seen on this surface since late last year though and her losing run is starting to grow; well-weighted if she does find her form.

Verdict

There’s a chance that handicap debutante ISLAND OF LIFE may have been let in a little bit lightly here having been considerately handled last time out and she may well repay that kindness here. None of her more experienced rivals look ahead of their marks although dual course winners Sitar and Socialites Red who won this last year are both respected; the former may have been a shade unlucky at Doncaster last time out. Melonade will enjoy a return to this 6f trip with Nuns Walk one to watch in the market, she looks to be working her way back to her best form.
