Had Relight My Fire back in second when making it two in a row and has done really well for this stable since arriving from Ireland. Still progressing and good chance of landing a hat-trick under the penalty.
Had Hitman and Relight My Fire behind when winning over C&D on just his second start for this stable. Up 4lb but likely there's more progress to come after just eight starts.
14 race maiden who disappointed returning to turf last time. Needs to find some progress to feature. Stable also run Talent Scout.
Gets to race off a 14lb lower mark back on turf after a win and a second on the AW at Newcastle. Lost little in defeat in a strong contest last time and potentially well in on these terms.
14 race maiden who travelled strongly but couldn't quicken as well as the winner on a softer surface last time. Conditions today should suit and one for the shortlist.
Was hitting the line strongly just behind Nature Boy over the C&D and back up 2lb. Now 4lb higher than last winning mark and does need everything to fall right but should run another good race with fitness now assured.
Veteran who won here three times last year. Now racing off 8lb lower mark and wasn't disgraced in a competitive race last time. Should be competitive.
Consistent performer who went close with switch to forceful tactics last time. Loves this track and a C&D winner who should go close again.
Loves this track but is on a long losing run. Fourth behind Hitman before another close third at Redcar. Should be competitive again but proving hard to win with.
Out of form in both runs this season and question whether this trip will suit.
Veteran who went close down to claiming company last time. This will be tougher for a stable struggling for winners at present.
Not as effective on turf as AW despite getting to race off a much lower mark. No promise from his last start and best watched from out of the handicap.
Forecasts
Nature Boy (3/1), Presidential (5/1), Make On Madam (11/2), Hitman (6/1), Relight My Fire (7/1), Chaplin Bay (15/2), Spinart (8/1), Talent Scout (16/1), Kingofmerrows (33/1), Sooqaan (33/1), Round The Island (50/1), Space War (50/1)
Nature Boy, Hitman, Relight My Fire and Make On Madam were the first four home over the C&D recently and all should be competitive again in an open contest. Presidential is progressive and there could be more to come at this level and is likewise closely matched with the quartet from his latest win. A chance is taken that CHAPLIN BAY can transfer his smart AW form and if he does he's a handicap blot on a reduced turf mark.
- Chaplin Bay
- Presidential
- Nature Boy
